Sharp stomach pains on right hand side for the past 24 hours. Help!

I went to bed last night and all of a sudden had a very sharp pain in my stomach on the right hand side. The pains have carried on happening all day today. It's sort of a twinge feeling but fairly sore. It's in the exact same place each time, the right hand side of my abdomen, in line with my belly button.

I hate to google this sort of thing so wondered if anyone has any ideas what could be causing this? Thank you.

@FaithInfinity just out of interest, my consultant thinks my endometrial cyst I related (probably stuck) to my appendix so I’m awaiting treatment. What did they do for you in that regard?

Sorry to jump on this thread, it’s just you’re the first person I’ve seen or spoken to who’s endo sounds like it’s causing pain in the same area as mine.

Pinkstars I had to push for a laparoscopy - I had other tests like scans, colonoscopy, everything was normal but I still had chronic pain. I asked for a gynae referral and they agreed to do a laparoscopy, they found endometriosis but strangely on the opposite side - must have been referred pain. They did some diathermy (so basically blitzed it with heat) and once the post-op pain had settled the abdo pain had gone too. That was a year ago. My periods were less painful for a while but they’ve got worse again recently Sad

Thanks all. Pain is still there so I'm going to grab some peppermint tea on the way home from the school run and see if that does the job,

Well I went to the out of hours doc and he had thought it was my appendix and sent me straight to a&e
While there I got very nervous and was on the loo quite a bitBlush so yes was still constipation! It was basically a blockage which they saw on the x- ray
After some suppository things I was as right as rain!

Hope you get sorted and I would def get it checked today if still in pain Flowers

When I was a teenager I used to get pain like this quite a few times. Tried to hide it, as had an inkling it was a grumbling appendix and didn't want an operation! But once over Christmas period I woke up in terrible pain. DM called the doctor out (in the days when they did house visits). Told me I had constipation due to over indulging at Christmas and told me I needed an enema. District nurse had that pleasure, I had never been so mortified Blush.

A month later I collapsed in similar pain. DM took me to doctors surgery, saw the same doctor. He started muttering about constipation, I gave him a withering look, he did some further checks and announced that it was probably my appendix (and said that the last attack probably was too) and told DM to get me to hospital. Appendix duly removed and was told that it had been very close to rupturing!

Hope you are ok OP

Stomach pains are subsiding. Only the occasional pain now but oh my word, I am massively bloated!! TMI warning but I'm still having bowel movements but I've read I could still be constipated.

Going to take some Senokot tonight to see if that helps 🙏🏼

Obviously didn't end up going to the GP since the pains are so infrequent now. Just hope I can get rid of this awful bloated feeling!
