Im in a really odd and difficult situation so I'm really hoping anyone can help me with this please.
I cant give too much of my personal life away because it would be seriously outting. My husband died 2 weeks ago. He was in the army but he had left around 7 years ago, someone has mentioned that he would've paid into a life insurance plan while he was in the army..? I can't remember if he ever did or if it was a mandatory thing anyway that came off his wages. Does anyone know how I can find out and how I can possibly make a claim if he did have a life insurance plan back then and would it still be valid now to claim? Any information would be great because I really have no idea.

Sorry for your loss Flowers

Most people have PAX insurance but, like all insurance it will only pay out if he kept paying the premiums. Any sign of them on any financial papers you have seen?

Have you sorted out widow's pension?

It's not mandatory to have life insurance in the forces OP. It's certainly not something they offer routinely.
However, if you know your late husband's MIL No then you could contact his RHQ. They may be able to help. That said, AF personnel usually took out insurance privately, as a civvy would.
Sorry for your loss.
