Holy shitballs. Burnt my finger. Pain. Ouch.

I was cooking some pasta on the hob (electric) and wondered why the water wasn't boiling.
Being the fucking tired idiot I am I put my hand on the plates to find which one was hot, found it and then kept my fingers on the plate for a few seconds.

It's agony!! The burn immediately turned white so I put my fingers under cold running water for about 20 minutes.
Ever since I've been holding on to cold things (drinking glass, cans from the fridge..) but I can't take my hand off for more than 3 seconds without the awful, burning, stinging pain coming back.

Any tips on how to take the sting out of a burn? It's only small but lethal Sad

DONT APPLY BLOODY VASELINE

Also Vaseline. More bollocks.

Not Vaseline FFS! A&E would not consider it a waste of time, burns on hands are considered pretty serious, but if it really is only your fingertips and you really don't want to go, then cool water for as long as you can - not ice cold, as that actually restricts blood flow and can make a burn worse.

My grandma was a nurse during ww2. She would put butter on a burn 😱. NEVER BUTTER A BURN.

Hope it feels better today OP.
