Anything he can put in a flask - leftovers mostly.

It varies, also depends on if there are leftovers.
He will take things like
Chicken drumsticks, pasta, sandwiches, couscous salad, wraps, soup, bagel. Filling vary between leftover meat, eggs, chicken ham or stuff, peanut butter
Some fruit depending what's available.
Sometimes a snack - crips, KitKat, cake, veg sticks, biscuits - depends what 'main' he takes
Water.

He does them himself. Sometimes the snack doesn't get eaten so either stays in his bag for the next day or eats it on the way home.

No fish though - too smelly.

DCs went to a HUGE school with a cafeteria and no seating areas
I always provided them with a pot of fruit and a bottle of water and then put money on their "finger" accounts for hot food

Some weeks DD has samosas, sausage rolls, focaccia or whatever bready stuff is in the yellow sticker section. Then less organised weeks it's a bagel every day, but I always try and have a bit of veg (pepper, carrot etc), fruit, something sweet.

School cafeteria for food only works if the child likes them (mine would rather go without food all day) and if the family can afford it.
