Wise words from your elders

My Nanna, who’d been agoraphobic for over 20 years, told me if I was ill (for longer than a day, but with a cold or some such) I should walk around the block. I’ve ignored that advice sometimes and realised it does spike my anxiety. Your world can shrink so quickly. I wish she was still here so
I could say “I get it!”

What have you heard in the past (that maybe you scorned!) that you now understand?

That I was good enough back then (in the context of not doing something till I felt I was a better person and more 'deserving' of doing it).

I never will reach the impossible perfect person standard I hold myself to, but I am good enough as I am.

(I want to believe it more than I actually do, but am working on that)

My Grandpa a former shall we say frugal person, told me "Health, happiness then wealth" he came up with this after a stroke and surviving bowel cancer.
