Looking at holiday to Spain or Spanish islands, in the Easter holidays. But are we mad? Will be be able to go? Will leaving EU with no deal mean we can't go?

I've signed up to the gov.uk travel advice for Spain, but due to our crappy politicians it looks like we won't really know what's happening til end end of march.

Or sit tight and book really last minute?

I need some sun!

Right, extensive googling shows me that Jet2 seems to have a great luggage allowance, transfers included, and civilised flight times.

They do flights and hotels in the canaries so that's great.

Anyone any experience with jet2?
(DH has refused point blank to fly Ryanair)

Tried them once, didn’t like them - really bad organisation checking in at MAN - but that was 8 years ago, & they do very well in Which surveys.

Their extra legroom seats (essential for me) are very expensive too.

My first choice is always easyJet Smile

Ah I've had a good look at the easyJet holidays website.
They don't seem to go to the canaries in April it seems
Plus you need to add on at least £100 for all the extra charges

Howzabout I'm not in Madeira, I'm in Spain. Madeira is Portuguese!

I'm near Barcelona in an un-Benidormesque seaside town. It's lovely. Can still PM each other for a house swap Grin

You are, because it's freaking cold most days! We went to Alicante in April last year, the sea was unbearable and a lot of places closed as not tourist season. Definitely not swimsuit weather either!

April can be fabulous in Spain - southern Spain at least! We had a wonderful 2 weeks in mid April one year - 1st week near Torremolinos, 2nd week in Marbella. It was cold & wet for just one 24-hour period. Otherwise kids were in unheated 🥶 pool the first week, & in the sea, & in second week adults were in heated pool & in sea, & sometimes the sand was too hot for bare feet Shock

Madeira/Canaries still a safer bet for heat though of course.

Oh, right - we always do flight only plus airbnb. More flexible that way though I don’t know how price compares - our week in Madeira cost £350 each including 1 bag & 2 seats each way.

I've flown jet2 loads of times, never had a bad experience.

Deianira · 09/02/2019 10:41

I love jet2. Great hand baggage allowance, decent legroom, and when I screwed up a booking and had to change details on a ticket they just did it at the airport, no fuss and no charge!

We’ve booked a package holiday to Cyprus leaving on 30 March. I’m hoping it will all be OK, but who knows?
