What do you do on your child free days?

My two dc 4 and 2 ate going to their grandparents from Sunday to Wednesday so we will have 3 whole child free days! Dh will be at work except Sunday. We're looking forward to having a lazy Sunday binge watching power, eating what we want just being slobs 😃

I'm a sahm so will have 3 days to myself! What should I do? Apart from getting on top of housework and washing and doing some jobs I've been putting off (which I could probably do all that in one day)but what do I do the other 2 days 😳 what would you do?

Tomorrow is my day off. So after the school run, I am getting my nails done. Then going home, soak in the bath with music and facemask on. Then into clean pjs and into bed for a few hours

In to town and do clothes shopping, meet with friends for lunch or a film, a film by yourself, dinner or theatre in the evenings with friends, sort out bits at home, get hair done or nails....love child free time

Play Xbox. All day Grin
Enjoy your days off!

Today I am in bed, didn't sleep well last night so just relaxing. Yesterday I went shopping. Last week I spent day off watching call the midwife from 9.15-3.15 when I had to go collect small child!

Dimsumlosesum · 07/02/2019 12:38

Get the house back in order first, then I usually either get the groceries, or do some crafting for sale online.

IHeartKingThistle · 07/02/2019 12:39

I teach part time so I do all my school work on my days off. Sucks a bit but sucks less than working evenings!

Seaseasea · 07/02/2019 12:42

If I had childfree days I would probably binge watch a series with lots of wine, then have a long bath and sleep repeat.

No housework, no cooking, no demands... I’m so jealous

thatsmyspace · 07/02/2019 12:56

I will be having lots of baths and lots of wine that's for sure. Mostly looking forward to the peace and no mummy Mummy mummy!

The house will be cleaned and stay clean and tidy. No picking up and packing away endless toys and no screams of "mum I've done a poo, can you wipe my bum" 🙈 I've just got back from shopping where I bought a huge fluffy throw to wrap myself up in and 4 bottles of wine! Do you think that'll be enough? I'm not an alcoholic I promise 🤦🏻‍♀️

Don’t have that many... normally go for a run, go out for lunch/brunch/coffee, maybe look at something you can’t take kids too - art gallery museum or John Lewis China department, maybe go to the cinema or possibly tidy something in the house! But I only get about 2 child free days a year so try not too...

wendz86 · 07/02/2019 13:43

Mine are usually taken up with cleaning/sorting etc . However i will try and also do things like cinema, get nails done, have a mooch around the shops.

musicmaiden · 07/02/2019 14:09

I work a 4-day week so have a few hours while the kids are at school every week. I do exactly what Kittykatmacbill describes (not all on the same day though!) – running, shopping, cinema, long walks, galleries/museums, reading, Netflix, coffee/cake, etc.

More practically, I also do plenty of chores, have my hair cut, do a lot of sorting/decluttering and maybe some gardening (not so much in February, mind).

I love my day off. Absolute bliss.

happypotamus · 07/02/2019 15:01

I work random shifts so have childcare in place for days I don't always need, so I sometimes have a childfree day while DC are at school and nursery. I usually use it to tidy and clean the house and do the ironing, because it is almost impossible to do that with DC here. I also watch tv, because one of my DC doesn't go to sleep until so late/ I don't get home from work until so late that I don't often get a hour in an evening to watch anything so record things to watch during the day in the week. In your situation, I would have a long lie-in, a peaceful bath uninterrupted by DC needing the toilet, read/ watch tv/ go shopping/ to the cinema. Enjoy it!

Meltedicicle · 07/02/2019 15:09

I work part time and my DDs are both at school so I have quite a bit of child free time in the week. I do things that I can’t do when they are around like go to the gym, long walks, lunch with friends, museum trips etc. Have a great time!
