Emilo Sala... Nantes demand transfer fee. Bad taste?

Firstly... am not being goady and the DailyMail can fuck off.

I cant decide if this is in bad taste or not.

My initial reaction was one of shock and "they havent even found him yet for goodness sake"

But then after some thought, I also thought business is business. Cardiff bought Sala. Nantes are asking for payment.

So... is it in bad taste or is it fair and square...

I thought it was in bad taste too, both it being leaked and the timing. But i also assume Cardiff will be claiming insurance.

Transfer fees are a sad part of football. Which other industry would you be 'sold' to a different employer.
I get why they exist encourage smaller clubs to bring on young players but something just doesn't sit right with it.

Sala was insured for £16 million by Cardiff, that was in place on the morning the plane took off.

It's a sad situation but Nantes need the first installment, which is £5 million. They will have plans for it and possibly obligations that rely on it. They owe up to half of it to Bordeaux, who had their entitlement to part of any transfer fee written into their contract when Sala went from them to Nantes.

Sala didn't want to leave Nantes, they didn't want to lose him, but the Club was in financial need.

The club can afford to pay, the outcome of the investigation didn't make a difference to that. So they should pay up as the contract states.

Obviously the fee needs to be paid but I would have thought everyone concerned would at least wait until after the funeral out of decency. It's hardly a common occurrence.
