Tell me some shops that sell posh bed linen?

DD1 has scarlet fever and DH just tore something in his knee and is hobbling about in a knee brace and crutches. Last night's game of musical beds (so's DH was downstairs and I was near DD who wakes up with a sore throat) left me on the sofa, which seems to have got a lot lumpier in the 10 years or so since I last slept on it, and I am going to be there till DD is better. Today I am mostly yawning and ferrying people to doctor's appointments. Would you point me in the direction of suppliers of lovely bedding so I can browse and dream about a decent night's sleep?

I wholeheartedly recommend Linen Bundle

As life’s little luxuries go, really good bedding is high on my list Smile

Dunelm dorma range

I always used to buy my Egyptian cotton linen from The White Company until the last pair of sheets - after only five years my foot went through one and the other was very thin. I would recommend John Lewis. The ones I bought have been fab and still going strong.

I buy from Just Linen. I love Sheridans and egyptian cotton sheets, but they do allsorts.

Only 5 years? I dunno, SilverySurfer that sounds like a better than average lifespan for bedlinen to me.

I love the hotel bed linen. Everything is clean and white and soft. Where do hoteliers buy theirs from?

AwkwardAsAllGetout is right. TKMaxx can be really good. Not every branch does bed linen but one near me does. Like her, I got really cheap Frette stuff and also Descamps.

Sometimes I stroke the sheet before I go to sleep because they are so soft.

QVC stuff is really good (yes off the tv) but my current very high thread count stuff is Aldi!

They always used to last longer and if you think five years is a better than average lifespan, you would be shocked to learn that I have a pair of sheets my DM gave me made in the 1940s and still going strong Smile

Going against the grain but I have not been that impressed by soak and sleep. After reading lots of positives about them on here I got sheets, duvet and pillows. After 2 years duvet has gone ,patchy, with some bits being nice and full and others thin and sparse. The pillows have gone flat and lumpy so nort at all impressed. Having said that the sheets are still lovely, just very disappointed by everything else... for the price!

House of Fraser do 800 thread count bedding. We treat ourselves every few years in the sales.

Ooh I'm after a white duvet cover - superking.

I have some soak & sleep & it's ok, white company nice-my faves are M&S autograph 1000tc pillowcases & a linea sheet that is not quite as high a TC

There is a patterned frette set in tk maxx for £130 & if it get amazing, I'd be tempted!

King of cottons I've heard is vg. Off to check secret linen

I wonder how many of these will ship to Germany where I live? I had to get a new duvet cover at the start of winter and I ordered one off a German website that described itself as "biber"(=beaver, I know, I know) and I thought it would be like brushed cotton but it's more like jaggedy-arsed bus seat fabric and I have no idea how anyone could sleep on it. And pillowcases are a bugger here as well - 40x80cm or 80x80cm. Who can even sleep on something like that? One is like a tube, the other one is like a bloody beanbag.
