What would you like for Valentine's Day?

Besides garage flowers, cheap chocolate, and tacky underwear of course. You'll be getting that anyway.

A good thread to accidentally leave open for your partner to get ideas from! Wink

We'll be away on holiday so I'm anticipating a nice dinner, watching the sun setting over the sea.

BarbaraofSevillle · 05/02/2019 12:25

an end to commercialised hype that is designed to sell tat.....but I may be being a tad optimistic

^^ This. People should do nice things for their partner all year round because they want to, not because the calendar and the shops tell them to.

fussychica · 05/02/2019 12:49

Nothing. It's just a day like any other. You don't need all that commercial crap to show you love someone.
I know this view won't go down well!

Oh I see I'm not aloneSmile

Justmuddlingalong · 05/02/2019 13:20

@NoseyParrot, I know, but there's no way I'm waiting until the 14th! 😉😆

madcatladyforever · 05/02/2019 13:21

I'd like them all to leave me alone.

LadyRochfordsIcedGusset · 05/02/2019 13:29

Same as fussychica - it's a load of commercial bollocks.

LadyRochfordsIcedGusset · 05/02/2019 13:31

Tinsel - I hope you don't wait for once a year for that Wink.

elQuintoConyo · 05/02/2019 13:31

Free dinner.
A dozen red roses.
Some bling.

LOLZ! DH would think I'd had a lobotomy if I demanded all of that.

Sweet F.A. Valentine's Day is a huge pile of wank.

Sausagefingers9 · 05/02/2019 13:32

Beer battered onion rings from m&s. a whole freezer full of them.

TinselAndKnickers · 05/02/2019 13:35

LadyRoch .. or my preferred IcedGusset Grin

No, thank god... but an extra decent one wouldn't go amiss Wink

anxiousbundle · 05/02/2019 13:48

An engagement ring. It's only 2 years though in September but we've lived together for over a year though. I'm desperately in love lmao.

I've got him a nice black leather with sterling silver bracelet (£18 down from £54!)

But usually, nice flowers always go down well- or an underwear shop voucher or a night away.

LadyRochfordsIcedGusset · 05/02/2019 13:55

I could do with a dethawing myself Grin.

LadyRochfordsIcedGusset · 05/02/2019 13:59

Thawing even. Dethaw I think I just made up .

Dard · 05/02/2019 14:03

Tom Hardy

BluthsFrozenBananas · 05/02/2019 14:06

Nothing, I don’t need anything and the only thing I actually want at the moment is an instant pot, which is both expensive and not really a romantic type present.

frogbull · 05/02/2019 14:11

Dinner cooked for me. I do all the cooking in this house (generally fine with it, like cooking) but once in a while, I'd like to be cooked for in my own home. Not go out, not get a takeaway, get cooked for.

OurChristmasMiracle · 05/02/2019 14:21

The same as I demand any other day.

So diamonds horse drawn carriage carried from carriage to door (I’m joking!)

Just time attention loyalty and respect. I’d much rather my partner buy me flowers or chocolates etc “just because”

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 05/02/2019 15:50

I've said no cards, dh tells me he loves me every day and it's no more special in a card.

I'd like a massage and a good back scratch.

Crustaceans · 05/02/2019 15:59

I’ve not given it any thought tbh. It’s the first Valentine’s Day with my BF so I’ve put some thought into a present for him (beer, which sounds unimaginative, but it’s a particular kind of beer with a matching glass that I know he really likes, and he collects beer glasses). I’ll get him a card too and write something soppy in it.

I genuinely don’t care what he gets me (if anything - although I know he’ll get something). Really. Whatever it is will be absolutely great.

Plump82 · 05/02/2019 16:03

An engagement ring. We've been together 11 years!! Surely its time for a proposal. Joking aside, nothing. It really doesn't bother me.....maybe i should propose to him!

candlefloozy · 05/02/2019 16:08

Honestly? Jewellery, ferrero rocher, to be wined and dined. The full shebang! But I do think it's a massive waste of money and they put the prices up blah blah blah. So realistically I'd like a nice dinner and maybe some nice chocs.

Abra1de · 05/02/2019 16:25

Nothing. Hate manufactured romance.

SongforSal · 05/02/2019 16:26

Keanu Reeves naked and in my bed.

NeverHadANickname · 05/02/2019 16:29

I have asked for slippers and a tool box because I had to leave mine behind.

I think valentines is nice. Yes I get that we shouldn't need to be told to appreciate each other and we should show it year round and we do, but I like that this is just a bit extra. It doesn't have to follow the usual rules, just do what you both want.
