man pooping in neighbours garden

I just witnessed a man pooing in my neighbours front garden. I probably should have gone out and shouted at him but i think i was too shocked to think what to do.
A few questions: what is the legality of people pooing on other peoples property? It is definitely not something anyone should be doing but is it illegal?
what would you do about this?
he delivering charity collection bags? do you think i should contact the charity.
Or is this totally none of my business.
I will probably go round to the neighbours with some dog poo bags and offer to help clean it up.

contact the charity :-).

Maybe the poor guy has a medical condition. He could lose his job if you report him. I know its beyond horrible but unless it becomes a regular thing I'd probably leave it.

LLOE7 · 04/02/2019 12:54

Was he openly pooing? In the middle of the day?
My stepdad pooed against someone's house in Belgium before. He was driving with no publics toilets in sight and he has IBS- when he has to go, he HAS to go. Kept driving until he found an industrial park that looked pretty run down (it was very dark). He got out and sort of leaned against a building and pooped in the bush and up the side of the wall. When he went back to the car he put the headlights on to drive away, and there was his 'shit tonne' of poop all over the side of someone's house and front garden! Wasn't an industrial park at all. He drove away in shame. Oops.

Is this for real !!!!!

alwaysthepessimist · 04/02/2019 12:58

this isn't real is it?

Racecardriver · 04/02/2019 13:01

@adarkandstormyknight seriously? Do you think he shouldn’t loose his job after defacating in public on someone’s personal property?

jessmando · 04/02/2019 13:14

It is definitely real, he went behind a tree (not a very big one) pulled down his pants and squatted, and there is a poo there.
I didn't think about medical conditions, that is a good point if you have one then you need to do what you need to do. But maybe if this is a problem you could also clean up after yourself? I pick up my dogs poos so if you do your own poo, maybe you could use a dog poo bag and put it in the bin?

Honestly I would contact the charity, medical condition or not your neighbour should not have to clean that up!!

PegLegAntoine · 04/02/2019 13:18

Medical condition or not the neighbour really shouldn’t have to clean that :(

LuckyLou7 · 04/02/2019 13:20

I wouldn't imagine many people would defaecate in public without it being an emergency. Reporting him would be mean.

FunSizedNinja · 04/02/2019 13:30

....maybe he has taken a dislike for your neighbours 😂. If i had witnessed that I would have probably stood in shock too. It may be worth asking your neighbours have any camera's they can send the footage to the charity?

TheLostTargaryen · 04/02/2019 13:41

You need to call the charity. And I say charity, 99.9% of the time they are nothing of the sort. Have a read of the fine print on the bag. They donate a percentage of the proceeds from selling the clothes either 2nd hand or as industrial cleaning rags. Some may have genuine charities with a real charity number listed on the bag but are actually run by dodgy gangs headed up from overseas.

Either way, report him. It's disgusting. There are public toilets, businesses and cafes he could have gone into.

alwaysthepessimist · 04/02/2019 14:12

if someone had a wee in a public place they would be prosecuted for exposure wouldn't they? Is this not the same thing (or worse if you ask me)

Gruzinkerbell1 · 04/02/2019 14:14

Contact the charity

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 04/02/2019 14:30

There was a spate of people doing this for the thrill last year. It seems to be a "thing".

You won't know whether this was that or something malicious or just desperation, but your neighbour shouldn't have to be cleaning up someone's poo and they could have either asked for things to clean it with or found a tissue and taken care of it themselves before they left even if they were desperate.

jessmando · 04/02/2019 16:47

Thanks for your advice. I contacted the charity, the collections were subcontracted out to some other group who do the bag collections. Someone from the charity contacted the other company responsible for the collections and they came back and cleared up their mess.
Although they looked seriously dodgy, 3 rough looking men in an old rusty old van. A pretty good fit for your link TheLostTargaryen. I think i will be taking my old clothes directly to the charity shop

Good @jessmando these gangs are terrible and should be ashamed of themselves conning people and basically taking funding away from real charities. I take my clothing into the primary school collection bin or the one at the fire station.

I'm glad they cleared up the shite. Ew.
