Does anybody find this a curse of the times? With so many things online, such as shopping, government services, Netflix, etc. you have to create an account, give your personal details to someone unknown, remember a password, and then stave off the relentless tide of email which is always forthcoming, no matter how careful you are about ticking or unticking the boxes "we may send you email about services of interest to you". Then there's having to resist the targeted advertising. I've sometimes not made an online purchase if the signing up is too daunting. There are also those endless "review your purchase" emails; and there's also knowing that if you succumb to temptation of an advert, you're doing exactly what the companies want, and they're likely to target you all the more.
I'm curious about watching Bird Box (I know some reviews say it's absolute shite, but I'd still like to see it), but it seems the only legit way to watch it is Netflix; if I had my way I'd wait for the DVD, but no date announced yet. The thought of signing up to Netflix fills me with far more horror than the subject of the film! Is it that bad? If you sign up to Netflix, are you then doomed to square eyes from all the stuff you then feel you have to watch to get your money's worth, and a blindfold is the only cure?
Are you bombarded with email "you absolutely HAVE TO watch this"?
