How do I get blue crayon off white wall without leaving a mark??

Only moved in 2 months ago and was freshly painted. Landlord due round today to fix something and toddler has just done a huge arm movement of blue crayon.

I sugar soaped a different wall the other day for a tiny mark and it took the paint off so now I'm scared to try anything..

Washing up liquid works on walls, although speaking from experience, I don't think it will remove crayon.

Magic eraser sponge. I had a similar problem in a rented holiday cottage, and it got the crayon off without leaving any visible trace.

Magic eraser sponge! My daughter used her wooden ice-creams to colour the wall once so some kind of hard wearing acrylic paint, it came of with the magic eraser sponge xx

Bleach, undiluted, on a cloth, use carefully only on the crayon mark.

As Broomstick said, Mr Clean Magic Eraser. It is genuinely amazing, especially on painted walls! It has worked miracles for me time and again, and I will not stand not having at least one spare round the house, just in case.

Mayo. It leaves a slight greasy mark but easily rubbed off

Those white Staedtler rubbers get a kit of things off. Not sure about crayon on walls, but they are great for sun cream on car bodywork.

Witchofthenorth · 04/02/2019 07:54

WD40...spray a little on the cloth and rub gently over the crayon only

GetOffTheTableMabel · 04/02/2019 07:57

White cloth with bicarbonate of soda or toothpaste (but only if it’s white toothpaste not a gel/stripy one).

I'm just so worried I'll ruin the paint, I googled it and it said lots of things that I worry would leave a patch!

WD40 removed crayon from wallpaper/sofa/cast iron fire without leaving a mark for us.

My decorator told me to use baby wipes, it worked well.

Ok, so dd must be in ninja destructor mode, took her to get an eraser after dropping Dh to work and she managed to get the lid off a tub of vanish and then drop it so it rolled and landed under the shelves. Had to walk up to a worker and hand over the lidless pot of powder. Lucky she's 2 and adorable!

So good news the eraser worked and took it off, bad news the wall is still smudged. think he's used shit paint It's not noticeable with the light off though so I can get away with it.

Thanks for the help and suggestions, every wall in the house was re plastered and painted bright white before we moved in...looks great but a bloody nightmare!

Baby wipes. They work.

Witchend · 04/02/2019 10:17

Baby wipes worked for me too.
