Any ideas for 12 year old girls birthday party?

RainbowSparkles · 03/02/2019 20:10

I asked on my local FB page and they all suggested a pamper party.
She isn’t really girly, She would like to do something different that doesn’t break the bank for around 10 girls.
Any ideas are welcome.

A trampoline park party?
Wet and Wacky swimming followed by food?

Or you could just have them round your home and watch a movie and make smoothies/ milkshakes. Get some popcorn cardboard boxes and make it like a cinema.

My DD is a couple of years older but at 12 (and even now) she loved playing board games or Friends trivia pursuits!

Last year at 14 she went to a karaoke bar and we hired a private room and her and her friends had a blast. Those who didn't want to sing still enjoyed the experience as it was so funny esp the selfies.

Horse riding
Cinema and pizza
Afternoon tea
Bowling
Hire swimming pool
Themed party, we've done all sorts
Jewellery making
Disco
Go karting
Ice skating
Theme Park with 1-2 friends
Zookeeper for a day

Go ape? Might be too expensive though...

Hollowvictory · 03/02/2019 20:20

Recording studio was also good
I like the karaoke idea

There are cheaper alternatives to go ape, depends on area. My daughter is not girly and totally into that but I think we did at 11 and a couple of her friends (boy or girl) are a bit more timid and it was a bit of s stretch for them.
If you can host at home and let them take over the living room, choose a takeaway together, choose a film and use YouTube to find some karaoke they will be overjoyed if they're anything like the kids I know. Make or buy some ridiculous fancy cupcakes. Make them milkshake and popcorn. Kids live such restrained and sheltered lives and 12 is a good time to let them make some decisions and choose how they spend their time even if it isn't perfectly healthy and wholesome. Let them go nuts with a bit of junk food (obvs supervise so no porn gets shown and no-one has smuggled in alcohol/drugs!)
Give the gift of autonomy lol
They've just started secondary school and will have more responsibility and god knows some are like pow camps, so I'm sure they'll appreciate the opportunity to be themselves, be loud etc without being ticked off. That can be done with clear boundaries and don't let them trash the place

Thank you for the ideas, I am reluctant to do a sleepover as she had one for her 10th birthday and it was just crazy. Most of her friends are the same and seem be just as if not more crazy (They are lovely though).
Karaoke or something similar sounds great as they all love doing Tik Tok video things, will look into that.
Go ape and Afternoon tea sounds good too.
We have done a trampoline, Harry Potter theme, bowling and pizza making parties and I was thinking a disco for her 13th next year.
