How can I turn up these trousers without cutting the length?

DS has received his martial arts costume but it is huge. They are about 4 inches too long. I don't want to cut it all off as I would like them to last. Is there a sort of webbing that I could later remove as he grows? I have though about a stitch here and there but worried he would get his foot caught and just rip it out.
What would you do?

Look at using wonderweb/ wundaweb - you may need to use a few strips to get a good stick. You iron over the seal and it sticks. I use it all the time.
To remove it just iron back over it Tom heat it up and you should be able to release it again.

Wonderweb

I always just used to roll them up and iron them down and they were fine.

I’d just turn them up and do a hemming stitch all the way round - using webbing (which is probably too stiff) or binding to do it won’t really add anything and, as you say, if you only use a few stitches it risks coming undone if your son catches his foot in it.

wonder web will rip if he gets his foot caught in it too. Id turn them up and sew the hem firmly all the way round. Or ask his teacher what the other kids/parents do?

Duh. When you said webbing I thought of cotton tape, not Wundaweb.

Gobblers there is so much to roll up it look ridiculous and the other kids were laughing at him.

Didn't think you could undo wonder web although the cheap stuff undoes itself? I'll give that a try with a couple of stitches to secure it. I will get heavy duty so it stays up!

just do large stitches all the way round so his foot doesnt catch
