Best things to do at center parcs with a 17 month old

We're off to Woburn tomorrow and wondered if anyone had any tips of the best things to do there with a little one? I know there are some activities we can book but there also looks to be some free things going on.

Also - the lady on the phone was unspecific about the cot size. Is it a normal cot with comfy mattress? If not we'll take our travel cot as we have an extra comfy mattress for that.

Thanks!

I've not been to Woburn but the cot was a wooden one and DS seemed comfy in it, and our cot bed sheets fitted so I'm assuming it's a normal version.

The only activity I'd consider is balance bikes as I want to see if DS likes them before buying one, but apart from that I'd just take him swimming and let him toddle around on the paths.

On Tuesday morning at 10 there will probably be an entertainer in the bowling alley bar that's free (check the timing though in case it's changed!). Good playgrounds and there are soft plays in Hucks and the sports bar in the big sports hall.

The cot is a decent size with a proper mattress but may be slightly narrower. I always take travel cot as I know she sleeps well in it.

Defo take the travel cot, the corner used when daughter was 14 months was tiny!

Ooh bowling alley entertainment sounds good I'll check that out!
Thanks for the tips!

Feed the ducks
Go to the beach (take a bucket and spade, and wear wellies for paddling).
Soft play areas at the restaurants
Hire a bike trailer. Not only do my dc love it, but it also doubles up as a handy shopping cart for trips to the ParcMarket – providing the kids aren’t in it, of course – and a means of carrying picnic stuff around.
There’s a blackboard and chalks in all the lodges at Woburn Forest – an absolutely genius way of keeping toddlers entertained while you unload the car and get everything sorted.
The pools vary from one village to another, but Woburn Forest is possibly our favourite for toddlers – there’s a lovely baby pool with a couple of slides.
We hired an electric boat and cruised around the lake for 30 minutes. It’s such a relaxing activity to do, and we spent the time watching the ducks and people coming down the zip wire.
From our experience of using a cot, the mattresses aren’t too bad but the cost themselves are narrow. For a 17mo, or for any baby who sleeps with their arms out or moves around a lot, I’d use a travel cot.

Fantastic list @ricekrispie22 thank you!
Looks like I'll definitely take the travel cot then as little one does like to wriggle and spread out.

Don’t forget a puddle suit for park play if it’s damp. We’ve been lots with 2 DC & only pay for the odd activity. We find the walking, cycling (with trailer), swimming, soft play and parks enough. Love it there so much.

Have a great time!

When my son was that age we booked him in to mucky pups and he enjoyed that 🙂

My 2 and bit dc was fine in the cot. If your struggling for space in the car I really wouldn’t bother with your travel cot. Not sure about paid activities, but the swimming pool is awesome, some bird feeding is a great entertainer too.

Definitely book mucky pups which is messy play/painting. When our son became too old for it, he was most disappointed. Also, not sure if they have pottery painting at Woburn but we did that every time we went to Elveden at that age. We still have the very cute money boxes they painted. Definitely bread for ducks and a bucket and spade for the beach! Have a wonderful time!
