flat warming gift for colleague

I work quite closely with someone who's just bought their first flat with her fiancé and I'd quite like to get them a small moving in/house warming present.

I've seen a photo of the sofa they're buying and I know her taste from what she wears and a secret Santa gift she bought for someone but I don't know what to get her.

I think a nice photo frame, coasters which is what I was thinking is too much - I've seen a set of really nice mugs from Dunelm which is kind of similar to what I've got friends in the past.

any ideas?

Nice mugs or a candle - fairly generic and can be regifted if they really don't like them. I think a frame as more of an occasion gift. It's the thought that counts and you sound like a lovely colleague.

Are they moving out from parents, or will they have lots of stuff from previous house shares / rented flats ?
I only ask as I've got 2 people close to me - 1 just signed on their first home with their partner and the other moving into a rented house with her partner. I'm helping another neighbour clear the house of an elderly couple who have gone into care, and I've been offering them all sorts of stuff, and both young couple have loads of things like mugs already and don't want any more.
What about a vase, with some flowers in ? Less likely to have that in a student flat or flat share.

I was moving out of my parents home when I bought my first home. A lovely colleague used to put one extra item in her shopping every week (unbeknown to me) between me having the offer accepted and actually moving in. It was the BEST present EVER. She gave me this box, with things like a tin opener, a slotted spoon, a spatula, a packet of washing up sponges, some tomato ketchup, a jar of jam, a jar of coffee, etc et,etc, in. It was wonderful - so thoughtful, and I still use some of those bits nearly 30 yrs on.

Backforgood - they are both moving out of parents' homes yes. I've got no idea if they've got anything else as they've not shared houses or rented flats before as far as I know.

Good idea re the vase with flowers in.

Balloondog - I do know that as part of her Secret Santa gift for a colleague she got a candle so I may get one of those. I just don't really want to spend ÂŁ20 on a candle!

Someone bought me some lovely wine glasses as a gift recently, could that work?

I use mine all the time.

update: I got her a candle which is one of those in a sort of kilner jar (with the metal clasp) but it's a nice scent.

I did see one which had Sweet Dreams, Bedtime etc on it in the same shop but felt a bit awkward about giving her one for her new bedroom as I don't know her that well!
