Tulse Hill

Hi I'm thinking of moving to Tulse Hill as it is so much closer to my job and 3hrs + of travelling on 3 or 4 trains each way every day is exhausting on top of the intense job that I do. Anyone got any local knowledge of what it's like to live in this area? The flat that I'm looking at is very close to Tulse Hill station. Thank you in advance

It’s fine. Bit dull, not the best connected transport wise, similar to many of the neighbourhoods down that way. But easy to get to surrounding neighbourhoods which are a bit livelier. I suppose it depends entirely what you’re looking for.

Sorry, they’d not very helpful. I’ve got good friends who live there so I visit regularly and I think they’d probably agree it’s a bit of a non-descript place but pleasant enough to live. But scruffy around the edges, lacks the gentrification of nearby Dulwiches and the vibrancy of Brixton, but increasingly being adopted by people who can’t afford those areas.

It's true Tulse hill is not really a place in itself - a train station (with very good links) a few shops and pubs and a horrible road junction. But it's easy to get to lots of places Brixton / Herne Hill / West Norwood / West Dulwich / Crystal palace by bus / uber / walking.

It's a bit souless and lacks charm, but it's only 10 minutes walk from Brockwell Park, which has a lido, gym, tennis courts and cafe. One of the best open spaces in South London, in my opinion.
