I'm recovering from a breakdown I had in September. I have put on a huge amount of weight and am now I think between a 24 and a 26.
Im absolutely gutted. My agoraphobia is starting to improve but has meant I haven't been able to do any running.
So I have very little clothes that fit.
I need clothes that I can wear now and also for when I go back to work as a secondary school teacher eg dresses or tops and leggings.
I have huge belly bum and boobs.
I have an absolute max budget of £200 and need:
Some long sleeve tops
A couple of pairs of jeggings
Trousers for work
Dresses or tunics for work
Couple of tops for work.
This is impossible isn't it?
Please could anyone help? I hate how I look and feel

If you like running, could you look for a running machine on freecycle or Facebook free sites?

Oddsocksandmeatballs · 01/02/2019 13:08

Not impossible at all, have you looked on Everything5pounds?

GrandmaJane · 01/02/2019 13:13

Not impossible at all.

Jeggings from Asda.
Tops from Yours.
Trousers Asda or Bon Marche.
With the money you have left over, look at Holy Clothing online. You’re a size 3X.
Evans used to be ok for skirts.

Try to be patient with yourself, you’ve been through a lot and need some time to heal. Those websites look great Flowers

Until recently, I was a similar size, and I did most of my clothes shopping on Amazon - rarely paying anything over £20 for a single item. Try doing a search on 'size 24/26' and see what comes up? The clothes aren't the best quality, but I usually found something that fitted, or at least covered, me. I do understand a bit how you must be feeling because I felt the same. I've lost over 3 stone since last September, and am verging on size 18 now - I know you didn't ask for dieting advice, but I have found low carbing the easiest way to do it. Good luck!

delilabell · 01/02/2019 14:07

Thanks everyone for being so kind.
With amazon can you return them?
Grandma Jane the website is American woukdnt I have to pay taxes etc?
Any more ideas would be really appreciated.

Newlook curves section online is good i get pretty much all my clothes there!

Betsy86 · 01/02/2019 14:11

Also got some jeggings from asda that were really stretchy more like leggings but do look like jeans they were £10. Asda do nice tops £8/10 ish.

Betsy86 · 01/02/2019 14:16

Ooh i forgot work trousers i got in matalan! They were £16 and ate quite stretch they were in the plus section they dont have lots of plus size but they have some ok work things!!x

TheGoddessFrigg · 01/02/2019 14:18

Try Amazon for Lagenlook clothes- they are loose fitting and very flattering.

Guineapiggiesmalls · 01/02/2019 14:21

Good luck for your recovery. You sound like you’re making a lot of moves in a positive direction, and I just wanted to wish you all the best. Sorry I can’t offer any clothes advice!

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 01/02/2019 14:21

Op, have a look at Marisota. I have found them reasonably priced and quite nice quality. Customer service good too.

Babdoc · 01/02/2019 14:26

If you’re planning on losing weight, OP, then the clothes you buy now will soon be too big. Don’t waste too much cash on them- why not get a few things from charity shops, just to tide you over until you drop a dress size? You could treat yourself to some nice new longer term pieces once the weight is off.
May I also send a hug and my best wishes for when you start back at work. Teaching is very stressful, as you’re well aware, so be kind to yourself and try not to get exhausted when you’re back at the chalkface. Don’t let the little buggers get you down!

Hefzi · 01/02/2019 14:30

Worth looking at Asos too, op - a lot of the Curve range has me raising my eyebrows admittedly, but there are some gems there. Their own brand sizes are generous, and they do some nice cotton jersey tunic/dresses - and there are jeans and jeggings in the sale right now.

You can do it! Flowers

Magicstar1 · 01/02/2019 14:33

I've been clearing my wardrobe and have a couple of pairs of new black trousers size 24, and a couple of tops, also new if you'd like them? It'd be good for them to go to someone who can use them.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 01/02/2019 14:36

www.simplybe.co.uk

Very well priced for the basics with free returns.

Good luck x

getupdressupandshowup · 01/02/2019 14:38

For decent second hand clothes and accessories try Facebook Marketplace ( the logo looks like the outline of a house). Really good for bargains. Some people will send by post others won't. I've bought some great work handbags on there in the last couple of months £5-£20. Start by looking in your local area and then widen the search area.

AuntieDolly · 01/02/2019 14:57

TKMaxx has a great plus size selection online

TweeBee · 01/02/2019 14:59

You could look for bundles on eBay, you can get some bargains there. Be kind to yourself OP. You’re much more than what you weigh!

delilabell · 01/02/2019 15:05

@magicstar1 as long as youre sure that would be amazing thanks you so much.
Thank you everyone for being so so kind.
I've ordered some things from newlook to try. Hadn't thought of marketplace. Yoi are all so lovely

I'm sure you can get what you want for £200 with the sales being on. I got some bargains recently. I hate clothes shopping though, but had no trousers to wear, and no tops to go with leggings I had. Done it over a few short trips. Also not get too much at once is my new motto as find shape seems to keep changing. Good luck!

FurryDogMother · 01/02/2019 21:58

Yes, you can return clothes to Amazon - and I second the lagenlook recommendation - all very forgiving!

Magicstar1 · 01/02/2019 23:21

@delilabell no problem at all. PM me your name and address and I’ll send them off on Monday Smile

textile · 01/02/2019 23:34

M and Co Plus Range. Plenty of reasonably priced items.

nervousbreakdown · 01/02/2019 23:39

Yours are brilliant , I am in same boat as you and managed to get some black trousers and some really lovely pyjamas , cardigan and bras that fit . New Look and Dorothy Perkins aren’t too bad either , I can fit a New Look 20-22, DP 20-22 and bottoms between 24-26 . M&Co also not too bad for trousers . Pants primark is a good bet , or Asda . Tesco I have found is a bit more snug fitting even at 22.
