3yr old with verucca, leave or treat?

I've read that they go away on their own. Equally, we swim every week, so feel I should treat it.

What's the best course of action? Does a plaster suffice for swimming? Or does he need a rubber sock? I've not seen anyone wear those for about 30 years!!

Yes please treat it it's an infectious virus he will pass onto others!!

You need something like bazxucca which puts barrier over it so it won't spread.

I put duct tape on my dds, they (she had 5) were gone within a month.
Bazukka etc... isn’t suitable for kids. Just cover it well for swimming.

100% treat it!! It's really infectious, rarely just go without help and yes, verruca socks are very much still a thing. Our kids kept getting them from the local pool and I found out a fellow swimmer had them and the parents didn't do anything about them.

Look on eBay for the socks.

Treat it. We ignored DDs for a bit but it actually started to hurt her (she was about 1). The pharmacist gave me a treatment that was gentle enough for children as long as it is applied carefully. Can't remember what it was called. Fell off with regular application after about a month.

Oh thanks! I read another thread on here where lots of people saud to leave them as they go on their own.

I had a verucca and my mum rubbed banana skin on it every day for a few days and it just fell off!

I tried banana skin when my DS had one but eventually resorted to verruca plasters. Within a week or so the whole thing came out on the plaster and left a perfectly conical little hole, which bled like buggery for a minute or to but healed up completely.

Ooh spider I like the sound of that!!

There's many Bazuka verucca gels and there's a few for use in kids over two. I used one on my then 5 year old. Trick is to soak foot in warm water every night to remove he gel covering then gentle exfoliate with emery board and reapply Bazuka Gel.

Took about 6 weeks for the verucca to rise out of the foot and fall off. Skin healed over pretty quick after that.

I (and my mum since I was a child at the time) tried the leaving it method and I had it for twenty years. Finally killed it with banana in about three weeks.

I have another one now, five years on. I currently have banana skin taped to my foot. I would suggest treating it before it gets hold. I understand from the chiropodist that there are different varieties so different things work to get rid of them.
