How often do you make pancakes, and what are your favourite toppings?

We have them about once every couple of weeks, usually as lunch.
I'm just looking for new ideas (but nothing that involves filling and baking or anything like that).

We only have them on pancake day, and it is usually American style with a full American breakfast. It’s one of DH’s favourite things to eat so it’s my little treat for him.
I personally don’t think you can beat crepes with sugar and lemon, but no one else in the house likes them so I don’t usually bother.

May I have your recipes, to those who can make a fab American style pancake?

HeronLanyon · 01/02/2019 01:50

As pp roughly once every three years. Forget some years when the day is, sometimes don’t have ingredients (used to go out shopping on the evening if so but don’t bother now), every now and then everything aligns and they are made.
Lemon juice and sugar.

@Cornflake5 Google the Jamie Oliver recipe. British measurements, American pancakes, perfick.

They're nice with some blueberries chucked in too.

Bacon, onion and chillies with a handful of cheese!

Really not often! I'm awful at making them Sad I prefer the 'crepe' style ones over American fluffy ones.

Usually just some sugar and fresh lemon or strawberry jam.

Might get my boyfriend to make some on Valentine's Day!Grin

Oh yum thank you @CinnamonToaster the recipe I tried before suggested buttermilk and cider vinegar or something - which all sounds v odd now that I think about it!

CinnamonToaster · 02/02/2019 01:15

mimo pleasure, enjoy! Life's too short to track down buttermilk in Asda.

Weekly, ideally. Favourite toppings include bacon and maple, cinnamon and apples, maple and bananas, strawberries and cream.
