Day one and all is feeling good!!!

Do I wear it at night? I have an idea that gravity must play a part and therefore being horizontal would mean it wouldn’t work, but I wrong?

TIA

it's fine at night :-)

nomorespaghetti · 30/01/2019 18:58

I've always used it at night, never had any problems. I tend to also wear a reusable sanitary pad, but never really leak. Just like the security!

picklemepopcorn · 30/01/2019 19:01

It's fine at night. Suction. Or something.

New moon up user.

So many questions Grin

Justmuddlingalong · 30/01/2019 19:05

It's fine overnight. I have my 1st coffee of the morning before emptying it. Gives gravity 10 mins to slosh everything into the cup.

BadgerSandwich · 30/01/2019 19:06

It stays up through suction, not gravity, so you're fine

What brand have you gone for? I’m toying with the idea of getting one but nervous at the same time! Not sure which brand to buy as I’ve read so many pros and cons on them all. I’m very indecisive!

WhoahThereCrazyHorse · 30/01/2019 22:11

I did the quiz here Pink putacupinit.com/quiz/

and it told me to go for a Si-bell, which is what I’ve done!!!

All tips on emptying it at work welcome...

Thank you! It’s recommended a saalt cup for me. Noticed though that it’s an American site so not sure if it takes into consideration any available in the up that aren’t available in the us.

Can you use them for post partum bleeding? Or is there a infection risk... Only without stitches though...

Fairypiggy · 31/01/2019 13:47

I think you can’t use them for post partum bleeding due to infection risk. Also can not use tampons for this for the same reason.

Re emptying it at work, unless you have a super heavy flow you probably won't need to. I change at 6am, 5pm, and 10pm - Even on my heaviest days I've never filled a cup or had to change it during the day.

hopingforhappiness · 31/01/2019 14:34

It's been life changing for me.
I have to empty in work sometimes. I take a bottle of water into cubicle with me to rinse it. Better still I try to use a cubicle with sink.
I used this website. The lady is super helpful and working really hard to build up her business: femininewear.co.uk/

I've had to empty mine at work on the first/second days; wet some tissue and take it into the cubicle with you.

Remove, tip contents in loo, then blot the inside/outside with some dry tissue to make it easier to go back in (otherwise all slippery). There are techniques for how to fold it to get it to go back it easily, but these vary by cup; I sort of fold mine in half lengthways and try to get it as high up as possible (squatting on the floor helps with this). You should be able to feel whether you've got a good seal around the top of it. I then stand up and feel it sort of nestle into position Grin hard to describe! Use wet tissue to wipe fingers/your undercarriage and then you're done.

I had my period once when on site for a big client meeting and changed it twice in their loo on the day; it was no stress at all.
