How to get rid of moisture inside the car

With the damp cold weather my windscreen is always fogged up on the inside I wipe it with a micro fibre cloth but that only smears it around. Any tips for absorbing the moisture? I read that kitty litter would work but the bags are massive and I'd only need a small bit....

I suppose you could put it in a leg of a pair of tights, or contruct something more elaborate...

I bought one of these (other types are available) and I’ve not had a problem since.

Yes, we've got those dehumidifier bags too, they really help. They tend to end up lost under seats though, there isn't really anywhere sensible in my car to keep one.

I've got one of those windscreen microwave bags - so far no more ice on the inside of the windscreen.

scaryteacher · 29/01/2019 20:49

Meet I keep mine on the dash, and stick it in the door pocket when driving.

Have you checked your have air on intake and not recycle? Recycling always steams up the car (it's a picture of a car with a swirl rotating inside on your heating somewhere)

BonBonVoyage · 29/01/2019 21:06

Thanks all, good ideas there and I'll check the intake /recycle air dial first thing tomorrow 👍

Get fresh air in the intake.
Drive a long journey with the heat on full whack and the windows open a crack.

If it's just residual "damp clothes" from people in the car it'll go.

Also, old Ice cream tub, drill small holes in the top, half full with car litter. Leave in car.

If it's still fogging up lots it may have a leak round a light or door seals get it checked out.

Keep the a/c on when your in the car and silica gel bags on the dash when it's parked

My aircon is broken, it used to be ok when it worked. The door pockets are too small for the silicabag so it tends to get put on the passenger seat from where one of the DCs usually puts it on the floor, where it disappears under the passenger seat.
