I saw ‘I’ but obviously I meant on behalf of DH Hmm

Late 60’s.

Lives for animals - takes leftover food for foxes/owns horses, dogs & cats/takes in any waif and stray she sees. She already has wellies, riding gear, waterproof walking gear etc.

Loves (tacky) crystal animals and all animal-related ornaments but has no room for any more crap.

Buys herself flowers weekly.

Alcohol isn’t an option. Nor is skincare, make-up or toiletries due to allergy.

VERY fussy with food. Sticks with her own brands.

Doesn’t read books as she has no interest in them but subscribes herself to animal charity magazines already.

Would never wear new clothes. Made the mistake of buying her a White Company voucher last year and she let it expire Angry

Doesn’t do holidays because of her animals so no good buying Euros etc.

All obscure, bizarre and frankly weird suggestions welcome please!

Nothing. That's your husband's job.

Mojitomogul · 29/01/2019 17:57

What about a really nice birdhouse? Tk maxx usually do some pretty ones. Or a fluffy pair of slippers. A cushion with a picture of her and her animals on? Grin

Elllicam · 29/01/2019 17:59

Adopt an animal thing? I think the wwf used to do it.

CountFosco · 29/01/2019 18:00

Mum and MIL got cashmere bedsocks for Christmas which went down well.

MissKittyCat · 29/01/2019 18:00

What about sponsoring a hedgehog/donkey/three toed sloth or similar type charity gift? (Though I know a lot of people don't like charity gifts).

ketteringtownfc · 29/01/2019 18:02

Something to do with an animal charity - donation to the RSPCA/WWF/RSPB, or adopting a donkey or something like that. Some kind of animal-based experience, like falconry, or spending a day at a zoo with an animal? I know @mojitomogul was joking, but some nice printed canvasses or cushions with her animals on could be sweet...

Didiusfalco · 29/01/2019 18:04

Go on to the RSPB shop website and buy any bird food/animal related crap that you think might appeal. There will be something there I’m sure.

AwdBovril · 29/01/2019 18:05

Seconding the adopt an animal idea. Or, National Geographic subscription. Is there another animal welfare related, but enjoyable magazine? Something she doesn't already get?

GenericHamster · 29/01/2019 18:05

A voucher for zooplus or the likes to buy animal toys/food/whatever.

arseabouttit · 29/01/2019 18:20

Gloves? Special waterproof warm gloves? A bird table / feeder? Warm socks like skiing socks to go in her wellies. Fox food. A puppy.

Escapenextyear · 29/01/2019 18:31

Rspb membership ?

MrsJayy · 29/01/2019 18:34

Aww hedgehog house Smile what about a bee hive or is that too much ?

arseabouttit · 29/01/2019 18:38

Zooplus is a good idea - or even just a bunch of dog/cat toys ad treats?! I like hedgehog house too although it's maybe a bit late for this year. Bird box good for spring?

MouseUtopia · 29/01/2019 19:23

I bought a bird feeder from Ebay which has different levels on and you can hang things on it. The birds love it, I even have a thrush this year. It wasn't expensive.

MouseUtopia · 29/01/2019 19:26

Put in 'wild bird garden feeding station' into Ebay search box. They're £40 in our local garden centre, but £12 on Ebay.

PotteringAlong · 29/01/2019 19:28

Bug house?
