Anyone else looking at Orlando flights?!

I feel like I just need to bite the bullet and get them booked...

Going this October.
2 adults, 1 child (7 years) and 1 infant (18 months). Ages at time of flying there Smile
23/10 - 2/11.

Ideally would fly from Manchester, they're coming up at £622 each but I was hoping to get them cheaper 😩 think that's with the infant having their own seat but I'd be happy for her to be a lap passenger, although it then makes the flight prices £790 each. I naively thought I'd get 2 x adults and 1 x child for £622 each but no.

Any advice?! Or is this a good price and I'm just being tight?

Gatwick and Norwegian (including a night at an airport hotel) might be cheaper?

littlemissmonday · 28/01/2019 16:32

Have you used Skyscanner to find out cheapest dates?

Virgin are having a sale

Lovehoildays - you can put down a deposit and pay up

Make sure you are searching for the dates on an incognito webpage. Also try resetting your cookies as this can alter the prices. Good luck 👍

Also - I'm looking for flights at the moment too 🥴

JourneyofSelfImprovement · 28/01/2019 16:38

@Glitteryfrog I will look into Gatwick, thanks!

@littlemissmonday my problem is that I've already booked up the above dates with Disney 😫 so feeling like I'm limited to those now. Unless I found massively cheaper flights, I could always contact Disney and see if they could change our dates.... My head is like 🤯

I think those dates will include half term so you may not get flights much cheaper. We flew to Orlando at the end of July last year and the flights were really expensive. Definitely worth resetting your cookies though.

littlemissmonday · 28/01/2019 16:41

Sorry I'm just seeing that part!

I'll look at the websites I'm on just now and I'll let you know

JourneyofSelfImprovement · 28/01/2019 16:42

@Swishswish26 yeah I've done the cookie reset, thank you though Smile

@littlemissmonday thanks! £100 each return would be wonderful if you can pull that out the bag for me 😂

Thats with the wee one being classed as an infant. When my daughter was the same age she got given a wee baby seat/crib thing. Which she loved but we also had an extra couple of seats around us if she wanted out, so I might be being biased about the seat/crib

littlemissmonday · 28/01/2019 16:51

Tuti - (I think that's the name) are having sale too. £150 off long haul flights if you add in the sale150 code (it tells you on the website)

ihatethecold · 28/01/2019 16:59

Sometimes flying into Tampa is cheaper.
We’ve done that a few times with BA.

TheJobNeverEnded · 28/01/2019 16:59

It's Manchester that is the killer. Only Virgin and Thomas Cook fly into MCO (Orlando International) TUI fly into Sanford.

Gatwick has better deals as there is more competition, BA, Virgin and Norweigian.

We saved money by flying Man-Dub then Dub-Mco but the pain in the arse is flying back into Dublin. My children are both at secondary school so not little and it was still hard.

There are boomerang flights where you would fly Man into Europe then direct to Mco which drastically reduces the cost but increases the travelling time. And you can land in the US and then fly onto Mco.

If you are hiring a car, flying Man-Mia or FLL or Tampa will also reduce costs.

That's all for the advice!

If it was just DH and I, I'd think nothing of flying and having a stop. My only concern is it being a nightmare with the kids, especially the youngest.

@littlemissmonday is it TUI? I'll have a look at that now Smile
