Do I need to get him more toys?

My son is 19 weeks. Been out with friends this afternoon and suddenly I'm a bit worried that he doesn't have enough toys. What is right for a baby of this age? He has:
Jumperoo
Play mat
A soft toy elephant with rattle/different textures etc
A big soft ball with things which squeak etc attached
A few lamaze pram toys
Soft toys but we haven't given those to him yet
A lamaze tummy time thing
Stacking cups (too old for him yet).
Some wrist and ankle rattles

We end up playing with the elephant all the time. I worry he's bored? Does he need more and if so - what would you recommend?! He has rolled once and can grab things. Thanks!

He doesn't need anything else. Chill. He has plenty.

Best thing is interaction with other humans.

My DD had loads of stuff as a baby and her favourite 'toy' was an empty crisp packet... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sounds about right. They really don't need much at that age.

Babies need stimulation, but they need it from you, notbtiys. Toys are supplementary. You singing and talking to him, doing baby massage, telling him stories is far more important.

Also take a look at treasure boxes- toys from household items which you can swap around. My DS loved them.

Sounds enough.

A cheap and cheerful ‘toy’ at that age is a silver emergency blanket. Can get them for a few pounds and the babies love them.

Books?

Mississippilessly · 27/01/2019 19:29

Oh he has a library full of books. I wanted to try and get storytime onto our bedtime routine but cant quite work out how yet. But I could read to him more in the day.

Thank you, you've reassured me

Also give him everyday objects to explore, saucepan and wooden spoon to bang, plastic cups, plastic cutlery, etc.
