Will towels dry in this weather?

Have so much washing to get done and I have a washer dryer which is rubbish.

If I wash the towels now and put them out to dry will they be done by tonight? I do usually use the dryer but it just takes so long.

Mine have been out since this morning and still aren’t dry.

It’s ectremely windy here today so I thought they would dry. But it’s cold.

Ah that's my plan out the window then

Surely depends where you are... they’d struggle to stay on the line with the gusts of wind we have just now, and there’s sleet showers so not here.

If they were hung out first thing they might have dried a bit, but you've got no chance if they go out after lunchtime.

I put 2 pairs of jeans on the line and they have almost dried. Just brought them in and hung them over the maiden - I suspect they're mosre cold than damp now so will be fine once they have been indoors for a short while. It will be getting cold and damp now so towels probably not going to dry at this time of the day even though it is very windy.

I put a load of towels out today because it was dry and very windy. Didn't get them hung out till midday. Wind was gusting at about 50mph so I made OH put guy ropes on the rotary clothes line in case it blew out of it's hole! Grin It worked though - brought them in at 3pm due to appearance of large grey cloud and they're almost completely dry. We have no space for a tumble dryer and drying towels indoors is not great in our tiny house...

I find if I put washing out on a cold blustery day, it doesn't dry completely, but then only needs another couple of hours inside.
