Dead skin cells/dirt rolling off skin

Does anyone get that, esp on skin straight after a shower? and on the back of the neck?

Despite scrubbing/scraping with nails, there's endless amounts that continually build up and come off..

Scraping with nails? During or after shower?!

Do you use a flannel or shower puff in the shower when you wash? They’re good to exfoliate.

BSJohnson · 26/01/2019 00:11

A brisk scrub with a hot flannel will see you good!

SpringForEver · 26/01/2019 00:11

Yes. On my shoulders, back of neck, also arms and legs. However we have very hard water and I think some of it is a build up of soap residue as well as skin cells.

I scrub with a rough flannel and a long handled brush, but every few weeks I need a descale.

I use E45 on arms and legs and that seems to need removing too.

I get that too!

Iv never found any flannel or brush or exfoliating product has stopped it.

A rough (not fabric conditioned) towel at the end of a shower does help a bit.

VanillaSauce · 26/01/2019 07:14

Dry scrubbing brush,

Kilash · 26/01/2019 07:24

I use a product from Lush for this. Weirdly it's an exfoliating bar and moisturising bar in one that you use in the shower. It's called Body Buffy I think.

Do you mean finger nails or actual nails, either way it sounds like a lot? I dont have any and dont know what you are even speaking about, but lo and behold i will probably havd a shower shortly and this will start for me. It happens with every thread on mumsnet.

Have you heard of Korean Italy towels people love them, they are soft but act like sandpaper to skin and leave you with arms like Jennifer Anniston in heyday Friends.

TipseyTorvey · 26/01/2019 07:31

I've just had a really weird skin condition where this was one of the symptoms. Doc sent me to a dermatologist who gave me magic ointment and now my skin is PERFECT! I say 'magic' because after looking like a lizard with flakes coming off my face for 4 months I now look normal. It's some kind of steroid. Might be worth seeing a specialist?

MargotLovedTom1 · 26/01/2019 07:34

Yep I know what you mean and I second the suggestion of the Korean Italy towels. They're amazing.

Liz38 · 26/01/2019 07:39

Korean Italy cloths! They do it for me. Truly amazing things.

Loka123 · 26/01/2019 12:27

Hi everyone, thanks for your posts and yes, by nails I mean fingernails lol.

Thanks a lot especially to the ones who posted a solution @3luckystars @MargotLovedTom, @Liz38

Do you use these cloths or buy from elsewhere? :

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 26/01/2019 14:30

I bought Korean cloths from amazon! Cheap and they really work!

3luckystars · 26/01/2019 19:26

You sit in a soap free bath for 30 minutes, then use the korean italy towel. Good luck

Ginkythefangedhellpigofdoom · 26/01/2019 21:37

I don't have a bath Sad

Liz38 · 27/01/2019 12:43

Loka123 yes, the Amazon ones. I use them in the shower as well as in the bath, not quite as good but a good hot shower for a few minutes gets skin soft enough for it to work. Have to get DH to do my back though Grin
