Keep coming home with headaches. Office job 9-5. What can I do to help this? I drink plenty of water... Not sure what to do.

What's the lighting like? Overhead office lights can be harsh.

Toughtips · 24/01/2019 22:14

Yeah could be the lighting actually

I have a friend experimented with a wide brimmed hat. Once she had established it was the lighting she had them remove one of the fluorescent tubes from above her and brought in a desk light. No more migraines.

Speak to your boss, in my work we can get things that sit above your head to stop the light being so bright, they fill out a referral and the work place adjustment team come out to assess, does your work have anything like that?

Zebedee88 · 24/01/2019 22:19

Definelty could be the lights. I suffer from visual stress, so words on white paper/ on a screen will give me a headache. And then it also depends on the lights.

Is your computer screen at the right height?

Toughtips · 25/01/2019 07:53

@tectonicplates I don't know?

You need to adjust your screen so that the top of the screen is at eye level so you're looking straight ahead. If you're looking up or down then that can cause headaches. Amazing how many people don't know this!

Make sure your pc screens are set up properly first. Have you tried adjusting their brightness? I use a halogen colour on my home and work screens so that the colour is warmer and less harsh on my eyes. One of my colleagues wears sunglasses sometimes if she's had a migraine recently and wants to cut down the light. Our office is very very white and very very bright so it can be a bit overwhelming.
