Do any online supermarkets delivery very quickly? DD unwell and need supplies.

DD is unwell with a fever and she's very clingy. I don't drive and it's freezing outside so don't really want to take her out in the buggy to go to the shop. She's just had the last of the ibuprofen and I'm almost out of milk as well which, as she's unwell and not eating, she's going to want. Do any supermarkets or anything similar deliver within a couple of hours? Is there an Ubereats equivalent?

Local taxi company might be able to pick up something for you. Supermarkets won't get something to you tonight.

GinaCarbonara · 23/01/2019 18:26

Have a look if you're in the zone for Sainsbury's chop chop.

StepMug · 23/01/2019 18:26

Beelivery!

papayasareyum · 23/01/2019 18:26

do you have a local facebook page for your area, I bet someone on there would gladly help out? We have a local group on Facebook for my town and when anyone has a similar problem, there are always offers of help. I know I'd help if I lived nearby

Heymummee · 23/01/2019 18:27

If you can get Amazon Prime Now in your area I’ve used that for emergencies like that before! They have groceries and usually deliver within an hour

DitzyPrints · 23/01/2019 18:27

Was going to say taxi too

Dextrodependant · 23/01/2019 18:28

Amazon prime now have 2 hour slots where I live.

RippleEffects · 23/01/2019 18:28

Amazon prime now may be available in your area - delivery of groceries within 2 hours.

iwasagirlinavillage · 23/01/2019 18:35

I can get prime now in my area, but they don't seem to have kids ibuprofen. Beelivery don't deliver in my area, neither do Sainsbury's Chop Chop Sad

I think I'm going to have to take her out. It's not far but she hates getting in the buggy at the best of times and she's clinging to me.

As she's got a fever, am I best to wrap her up warm? I don't want to over heat her but I don't want her getting cold either.

Check Deliveroo. Theybhave started delivering from the Nisa near us.

greenelephantscarf · 23/01/2019 18:45

if delivery fails -
warm blanket & hot water bottle in pushchair.
rain hood up.
good luck.

wigglypiggly · 23/01/2019 18:46

imsorryiasked · 23/01/2019 18:47

Whereabouts are you OP?

wigglypiggly · 23/01/2019 18:48

Waitrose rapid is only in London

greenelephantscarf · 23/01/2019 18:49

how old is dc.
nurofen meltlets dissolve in water, maybe that's easier to get via delivery.
but be mindful of the dose.

lemonface · 23/01/2019 18:49

Where are you?

PickAChew · 23/01/2019 18:51

On a night like tonight, yes, do wrap her up but keep an eye on her. Don't know where you are but it's already - 2 here.

And yes to rainhood up.

Hope you get what you need and she's better soon.

Lwmommy · 23/01/2019 18:51

Look up owlgetit to see if they operate in your area. Youll have to pay extra buy they do a concierge servi ce where theyll pick up from any shop

GenderIsAPrison · 23/01/2019 18:55

Amazon Prime and Ocado

BertieDrapper · 23/01/2019 19:01

I think it's deliveroo but they do picks up from our local petrol station for crisps and drinks etc. Sure they did other items too... maybe worth a look?

greenelephantscarf · 23/01/2019 19:04

do you have a corner shop that you can ring?

iwasagirlinavillage · 23/01/2019 19:13

I took her out in the buggy and got the bits we needed. It actually seemed to perk her up to get some fresh air. Either that or the last dose of ibuprofen has kicked in.

I think I was panicking a bit because it's so cold out but I feel a bit more rational now that she seems a bit better.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
