PS4 games suitable for a 7yr old?

DH is due to get a very large wage at the end of this month so he's treating us to a family PS4. Very exciting as our previous console was a PS2 that broke so we're very out of touch with 'new' PlayStation gaming! We have a Wii too but that doesn't get used very often.

The new Spyro and Crash trilogies are on the list of suitable games but what else can we get for DD to play? She likes animal/horsey type console games (Like the Pippa Funnell horse and Sims Animals games on the Wii).

Also, does it have to be connected to the internet? Do we have to make an account? Come to think of it, an idiots guide to setting up a PS4 would be very helpful Grin

The Lego games are fun, there are loads of them so should be something she'll like. I can't help with the PS4 advice though as we've only got an Xbox 1. Good luck!

Lego games and little big planet. Remember to play online you'll need a subscription that isn't cheap either

The PS4 has landed! Waiting until DD has gone to bed to set it up. Still looking for game recommendations though Smile

All the Lego games are fantastic - Lego City Undercover is best all round. My boy liked Ratchet & Clank and of course Minecraft.

Mine likes Drive Club, Ice Hockey, Little Big Planet, Minecraft, Tearaway Unfold and as a family Bomberman.

We get most of our games from the likes of Cex.

She isn't allowed to play Bomberman with her big brother though, gets a bit....heated.

Some good suggestions here, thanks! Are there any animal games? Like where you feed/pet/look after animals, maybe like in a zoo setting type thing or horses in a stable etc. I've been googling but not really found anything like that yet. There is one horsey game I found called My Riding Stables but the graphics look absolutely atrocious considering it's a PS4 game Confused

Ps4 isn't the best kids console, unfortunately. That goes to the Switch. I can't think of anything very animal-y, except for Stardew Valley and Slime Rancher but they're not really the same style. There's no Viva Pinata clone.

PP's make good suggestions - any lego (most are just movie games, but some special mentions: Dimensions is a now-ceased collectible figures game like Skylanders and addon pack costs add up quick, Worlds is more like minecraft, and City Undercover is like a brilliant and witty U-rated GTAish format game, highly recommended!), Minecraft, Spyro, Overcooked, Little Big Planet...

Just Dance is a good shout if she's dancey at all (although I'm now old enough I don't even recognise the artists, let alone the songs, on the 2019! Previous years are worth checking for tracks, they're all the same game just different music).

Take a look at these on youtube or the PSN site:

Donut County
Slime Rancher
Human Fall Flat
Snake Pass
Parappa the Rapper
Tearaway Unfolded
Hohokum
de Blob
Everybody's Golf
Grow Home
The Last Guardian
Locoroco (or 2)
Patapon
Stardew Valley
Rayman Legends
Journey

That should keep anyone busy.

Lego games always go down well. They're not graphic and great for getting to grips with the controller and a good entry level baby game for more complex fighting/strategy games.

My 4 and 6 year olds like LEGO city undercover, LEGO incredibles, LEGO Jurassic park, LEGO dc super villains... any and all LEGO games basically! There's enough in them that my Dh and I often play them on an evening when we're having a few beers!
