Ours: found

Dd1 and her friend heard a distressed kitten crying in a ditch. Five days later and with the help of a trap we had a half-starved 3 month old feral kitten in our kitchen after years of me and dh saying we were not getting a catGrin

3 months later we are definately his slaves, even dh who was not a cat person

I was frightened of cats. My neighbour got a grey partially Russian Blue kitten. It came into my house for a nosey and proceeded to wreak havoc, climbing the curtains and walking along the curtain pole. I just let it tear away as I was afraid to go near it.
Eventually my husband came home from work and put it out. Over time I would feed it little tit bits and let it stay in the hall when it snowed.
Little by little she wormed her way into my heart.
My neighbour asked if I’d like to keep her. I had her for 22 years and it broke my heart when I had to have her put to sleep with cancer.

A friend of mine had two cats; and then a third one wandered into her house, kept eating the other cats' food, and made herself very much at home. My friend didn't want a third cat, so begged and pleaded with me to take this little one, as I was living alone at the time. Twelve years later, the cat is still with me! We thought she was a kitten as she was very small, but she hasn't grown any bigger. She hissed a lot when we got a kitten some years later, but she's still around, and tolerates the new arrival, who has grown bigger than her.

My current cat came to us from my MIL who we promised we’d take after She died of cancer.
Puss hard a hard start to life coming to my MIL as a stray, pregnant. She had her little kittens in a neighbours garden. Neighbour phone the council who came and ‘disposed’ of them at 3 weeks. Got pregnant again and had 4 feral kittens. Luckily she kept them in MILS back garden. Tried to catch them but they always got away. Eventually at 12 weeks we lured them into the kitchen with food, chased them round, caught them and took them to the animal sanctuary who found them new homes.

My wonderful aunt passed away. One of her cats needed a home. I never really wanted a cat and have a v bouncy dog but I agreed to try. Dog obsessed with cat for around two weeks. I was obsessed with walking up and down the road looking for cat until I finally realised I needed to just let him be a cat and come home when he pleased ie he wasn’t a dog!
Fast forward 18 months and he is the most adored, pampered kitty ever. He and the dog give each other little nose rubs whenever they see each other and the cat chases the dog around the house and vice versa. I love him dearly despite him being loud and way too clever and enjoying ‘protecting his patch’ and fighting! He is a sweetheart.

Ours let herself in through the cat flap, we took her to the vet but she wasn't scanned so they asked if we would look after her until her owners came forward. We live quite rurally, I put up posters and asked around but we never found her home.
Shes been here 9 years now.
Rules the house and even the dog obeys her.

I was meant to be looking after Pepper for a "short while". Haven't heard from the owner in a month. Have text and messaged her.

So assuming she isn't coming back for her.

I got a phone call one Sunday lunch time asking to check on the kitten as I had a key for the house. She had been in hospital since the Wednesday. I flies down fully expecting to find a body to be greeted by this 6 monthish cat who climbed up me like a money up a stick and so traumatised I didn't have the heart to send her to a shelter. I don't mind saying I wasn't a cat lover.

I'm still not!

She's a little git but I genned up on a million cats from hell programs so know how to keep her happy and healthy. She isn't a lap cat and demands shit.

Then I developed a cat allergy.

I'm never getting another one, I've done my time Grin
