DOES ANYONE WORK IN AN A&E DEPARTMENT?

Am sat at GPS who have phoned an ambulance. Been waiting 3 hours

If I go myself to A&E will I be waiting longer than if an ambulance brings me in??

So will I be seen quicker if I arrive by ambulance than public transport?

It’s the same wait.

Presumably your GP has called an ambulance because they don't feel you can get there yourself safely. Also you're in a place of safety should something happen... just wait. If you're more of a clinical priority your ambulance will be sent quicker

Everyone will be triaged and seen according to need, not their mode of transport

Then there's no point in waiting here. I need to get there so I can home so

Makes no difference at all how you get there.

I'd wait it out. At least you're surrounded by medics.

It's mental health issues. She needs to be back at temporary accommodation by 10pm or she loses it

Can't afford to wait for hours here and then at accident and emergency too as wee need to be seen.

I only have baby sitter till 6pm

You or someone else?

7hup · 23/01/2019 13:12

A friend I'm supporting.

I'd rather just take her than have a double waiting time both here and there

Why does your op say you then? Tbh if it’s mental health issues than you/your ‘friend’ may not be back tonight anyway if it’s serious.
