Teenage and showers

Hi everyone, I recently experience stressful situations at home. My daughter age 15 has a shower once a day mostly mornings before school but she washing her ( very long and thick) evening and if she does so she is not having a shower the next morning only the morning after. My partner points on it saying that my daughter should have shower once a day and I said that she is not having shower the next day at all. For me is exactly the same amount of showers per week but he instead that she should have shower every evening only. I’m not agree with his decision and I will appreciate your opinion. Thank you

Mine shower every 2 days

Honestly, I don’t know what your partner’s problem is. Sounds like a perfectly normal hygiene routine to me.

Very weird that your partner even has an opinion on this IMO.

Eh? Why is your partner so interested in what time of day, or how many times a week your teenager showers?

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 22/01/2019 21:53

I do something similar - I have a hot shower every morning to wake me up but if I'm going to the gym that day, I don't wash my hair until the evening when I get back.

I wouldn't want my DP telling me when I can and can't shower, let alone anyone else...

GreenandBlueButterfly · 22/01/2019 21:53

Let me understand. Say she has a shower on Monday morning.

Then washes her hair Monday night, but no shower. Just hair washing.

And then, the next time she has a shower is Wednesday morning. Is that right?

I would stink by Tuesday evening if that was the case. I can't go 48 hours without washing.

donajimena · 22/01/2019 21:57

She is having one every day Confused
Mine have 5 per week Monday- Friday. Less in the holidays. I insist for school but I'll let them wallow in their own filth when we have no plans. If anyone had an opinion on it I'd tell them to fuck off.

BlueJag · 22/01/2019 22:51

The question is:
Why does he have an opinion about how much she showers?
Our son has baths and showers when he wants at least 6 days if not 7.

I have no idea how often my teenage dd showers. Why on earth would I care?

She doesn't smell unless she's been at work. I might say "you smell" and she says "I know" and showers. But she would anyway because she's nearly an adult.

Does your dd actually smell invetween?

BackforGood · 23/01/2019 00:26

I'm with everyone else. I don't understand even why anyone is keeping a count of when she showers.
Unless people are working as coal miners or sewage workers, then most people don't need to shower 'dirt' from themselves that often.
If people are sweating a lot - through exercise, through being overweight, or because we are in a heatwave - then most people don't need a shower every day.
It has become a habit for a lot of people, but most people don't actually need to shower every day for hygiene reasons.

Endofrelationship · 23/01/2019 00:36

My partner does this.

Might have 2 showers one day (morning as usual and another at night if he has been exercising or had a bath) if he washes his hair at the evening shower, he'll put on clean PJ's, deodorant and then not shower the following morning, unless he's got sweaty in bed.

He doesn't smell, so I don't see the problem!

notangelinajolie · 23/01/2019 00:39

It's weird that he is so invested in when and what time she washes her hair. It's actually non of his business and he needs to butt out. Is he usually this controlling?

MissLadyM · 23/01/2019 00:46

Sounds creepy to me...unless she's disrupting the household then why does he give a shit? Is he her father?

I'd be concerned about reaction from friends and those at school. I would not want a child to be thought of as smelly/having poor hygiene.
