ID for teens?

Thinking about getting some sort of official ID for 13yo DS.
He is very tall for his age and looks about 15/16. This can be problematic when requesting child tickets for various things, and the most recent incident was when he went to a football match with his grandad and they wanted to body search him on the way in (legally they cannot body search under 15’s). For obvious reasons I don’t want him carrying his passport around.
Can anyone recommend an official ID that is widely recognised?
I had a quick google and ‘Validate UK’ popped up but I’m not sure if it’s a proper recognised form of ID?
What so your teens have please?

Forgot to say, I want something that actually has his DOB on it, rather than a generic 12-15 years old card like the Zip Oyster

A lot of places will only accept a passport or provisional driving licence once they are 17.

My dc have had and used the Validate cards.

In Scotland children get a ‘Young Scot’ card from 11 that is recognised most places.

Is there nothing similar where you are?

CluedoAddict - I want it for the opposite reason really, to prove how young he is, not that he is old enough, if that makes sense!

Jbck - nothing like that I’m aware of in England unfortunately.

Shutling - good to know, I’ll look into it. Do you know how much it costs? There’s not much info on the website until after you put in your payment details!
