Anyone else with child/ren who have this long-lasting virus?

Just turned 4yo has had it on and off for 5 weeks now????

We've been to GP a few times and it's always been viral.

Really high temps for a few days, no appetite, lethargic, miserable. Will have a bit of respite for a few days / week and then she's gone again? This time we have a cough as well.

6yo hasn't succumbed as badly but they've missed 3 days each this term already (4yo also missed 3 days before Xmas!!)..... I'm so sick of them being ill.

Praying the 1yo stays well.

Anyone else got this?

Sorry 4yo has missed 4 days and won't be ready for tomorrow either. That's 5 days and we only went back on 9th Shock

She's in preschool so attendance isn't that important. 6yo has missed 3 days (bless him, he actually managed to shake it off quite quickly but he had to miss the first 3 days of school) 4yo has had it before Xmas, over holidays and since they went back.

I think I've had about 5 days they've both been in this term Sad

We have had it. Goes away and comes back again. DD (8) & DS2 (5)have had 3 & 6 days off. DS went back to school in the middle. DH had it and developed bacterial tonsillitis, had a week off work, but he's still not well. I had it, had a terrible headache for 2 days, was sick (none of the others were), generally feeling run down now. The only symptom that was common to all of us was a faint rash around the mouth and neck and chest, not very noticeable though.

Hope your DCs feel better soon, op.

I've got the fucking thing. Had a week off, back to work ten days, three more days off. It's making me sympathise with manflu.

DS2 (3yo) has it. Was off colour weekend before last. Perked up by last Monday, fine all week then downhill at the weekend and properly poorly yesterday/today. Older ones holding it off so far although I have my suspicions about DD who was very tearful this evening

Yes, we had it first half of Autum Term. Blood tests got various things showed nothing untoward (except raised WBC count). Took a holiday to SA to get rid of it!

I'm pretty sure this is what my 8 month old has had since before the new year, it feels like he has been poorly forever

Bishalisha · 22/01/2019 21:28

I’ve got 3 little ones. Honestly since the beginning of November there’s been non stop sickness and viruses. My two youngest are constantly off nursery

Sorry to hear that we aren't the only ones, but misery loves company and all that.

We were at a family party in early December and one of my relatives spent 20 minutes telling me how ill her and her son have been from a "virus", how she'd been ill for over a month with nothing specific (lethargy, temperature, feeling grim)..... a few days later the 4yo started and it's been one thing after another ever since. Thankfully she was ok for Xmas but by NY she was rotten again. We actually went to Drs on NYE.

She's been back at preschool for 10 days and has missed 5 Shock

I don't want to tempt fate but I'm on medication that suppresses my immune system so I'm praying it doesn't hit me next. I've had the poorly one in bed with me for best part of 5 weeks as she's been clingy and unsettled..... I assume I'd have come down with it by now?

Fingers crossed for you - it's not the worst thing ever but it really knocks you down.
