Breastmilk rings are a thing??

I’m on mush (I have no idea why as it’s full of huns) and someone recently posted about having their breastmilk made into jewellery.

Is this a bit weird or is it me? And a little indulgent as in “I’m very clever because I breastfed”? I just shuddered at the thought.

Are these popular? Completely passed me by when my son was a baby! I did breastfeed for a time but at no point did I think it’d be nice to preserve this in ring form!

Not judgy at all - I find it weird. I am allowed.
You are allowed for sure.

But if this is not judgy then by all means I have no concept of what judgy is Is this a bit weird or is it me? And a little indulgent as in “I’m very clever because I breastfed”? I just shuddered at the thought.

That’s what I think - I’m not judging someone who has one. It’s why I wouldn’t get one.

I don’t think I am anyway!

Ah thanks. I’d forgotten about these and wanted one. Good reminder.

I breastfed both of mine. But it is a dim and distant memory now. I am imagining the scenario where I had one of these rings and someone asking me what it was or where I had got it, and trying to explain. It would seem somewhat self indulgent to be still displaying how my children were fed when they are teens and beyond. I only tend to have jewellery which will not date though, so I would never have been the target market.

See I love this idea especially if you struggled to get breast feeding established

I never managed it with my two. I was gutted.

I wouldn’t go round telling everyone what it was though. It would be my own private momento

I had a charm for my pandora bracelet made with breastmilk and a few strands of hair taken on my DDs first birthday. I don't wear it often, barely anyone knows what it is (and most wouldn't think to ask), but I think it looks pretty and commemorates what a personal achievement I felt at her being a year old!
It is a tiny amount, and set in resin, it's not like it's sloshing around in there.

I really don't like things like this usually... but they are really pretty and strangely I like the idea.

For instance, these 2 pics show breastmilk jewellery
Unless you normally ask people "what is the stone in your ring" made of, nobody would know. I can answer glass if I want, which is what mine is made from.

So the "“I’m very clever because I breastfed”?" Is not happening.

What next? People wearing diamonds are show offs?

Why or why is it ok to mock breastfeeding mums in so many threads?

Pics!

I breastfed!! I’m mocking no one!

Not for me, I wouldn’t want a pendant made of hair either or even a locket I find a bit too sentimental. But breastfeeding my babies will probably remind one of my favourite memories of early motherhood. I’ll feel really sad when I stop for good. I can understand why people want mementos of it. I don’t think it’s showy offy, as no one else will know it’s made of breast milk.
