DS (who has asd) has not been wearing his school polo shirt under his jumper for the last week, just a tshirt instead. He seems to be much more comfortable- and no 'sickness' in school that he has had to be picked up for.
Unfortunately this is not 'appropriate school uniform' and his school want him in the proper collar.
I've been searching all weekend for something with a much softer feel, like a tshirt with a collar but not had any luck. Does anyone know if they exist? And if so where I can buy them from?

Sorry for such a boring thread in chat, but I'm desperate!

Please?

Can you sew a collar onto his school jumper?

Have you tried Debenhams? May be expensive for school but Ds has a ted baker polo shirt from there which is t shirt material but his is blue.

Dd has school polo shirts from M&S that are like t shirt material.

LeticiaDejeuner · 20/01/2019 19:45

Yes! I had workshirts like that (company uniform) about 10 years ago. Soft, brushed cotton with a collar and 3 or 4 buttons and a little pocket I think... they were lovely, very comfortable and much more flattering fit than the usual 'airtex' polo shirt. Unfortunately I have no idea where they came from as they were issued by the company... but I think they may have been Fruit of the Loom ...

Maybe this?

Have a look at Cotton Traders. A lot of their polos are of jersey/t-shirt material.

Thanks everyone- am going to check out Debenhams and sports shops.

I couldn't see any like that Juanbablo but will look again. It's hard to tell in the pictures what the feel is like! Might have to brave actual shops!

Leticia- will have a quick google to see if I can find any of those too! A small woman size should fit him.

He's 11- 12 next week.

Thanks again all! Smile

Kettlewell Coloursv do an adult size jersey shirt, but it’s £50 or so.

SimplyPut · 20/01/2019 19:55

Girls jersey polo shirts are more common but these may fit the bill.

DH has loads of golf clothes like that. Check junior golf t shirts.

Oliack1417 · 20/01/2019 20:01

H&M do boys polo's that are made of T-shirt material, I bought a few in the summer

Bubbinsmakesthree · 20/01/2019 20:03

Have you had a look at the M&S ‘easy dressing’ range - it’s designed specifically for children with ASD and sensory issues or who have difficulty with buttons etc. They have uniform items as well as every day clothes.

Notthecarwashagain · 20/01/2019 20:11

Putthewashingin- Thank you! Just bought 3 of those (bargain too!)

Going to look at the other suggestions too, to keep our options open!

Thanks again everyone. Got a bit worked up after a rubbish week, and really appreciate the help Flowers

Asda and Next both do them for girls.

Not sure if they do Boys, or if some of the girls styles are plain enough to be unisex?
