Curry powder instead of chilli powder. No wonder it wasn't as nice as usual.

Now my mouth is burning 30mins after finishing it .

It was so bland when I tasted it threw a loaf more in. Confused

Total brain fart. Dp came thru a minute a go to say it might have been a better chilli if I'd actually used chilli powder Blush
I'd left the curry powder out.

Wtf is wrong with me!

I alphabetise herbs and spices. DH is dyslexic. My 3 kids are a pain in the neck in the run up to dinner time. We came within a whisker of rhubarb and garlic crumble. Fortunately the jar of garlic granuals was very nearly empty and so I had sufficient time to think ‘that ground ginger’s an odd colour’ as I was about to tip it into the crumble mix.

My friend, after looking forward to her all-you-can-eat, office Christmas party carvery for weeks, smothered the whole thing in her favourite bread sauce. She nearly passed out when she took her first massive mouthful to discover it was horseradish sauce not bread sauce Angry Envy (not envy or anger Grin)

I make curried mince all the time. I like it.

Salt instead of caster sugar in a cake. Mixing it and the texture went really really thick. Thought it was odd, took a bit of batter with a spoon to lick it and omg.

Couple more meals like that, OP, and you won't be expected to cook again. Job done Grin

Last birthday cake I made, I used custard powder instead of icing sugar in the buttercream Grin

Once went for supper with a friend who cooked lemon chicken - supposed to have the juice and zest of 6 lemons in.

Unfortunately her local shop was out of fresh lemons so she bought - and used - the juice of 6 Jif lemons instead. Not only does each individual Jif lemon hold considerably more than the juice of a single lemon but it’s also concentrated - so about half a Jif lemon would have been more than enough.

As it was, all 6 were used and because there was obviously now too much volume of sauce, friend bubbled it away to reduce quite considerably...

Ended up like eating lemon in a sulphuric acid sauce - you could feel your tongue dissolving as you ate it. Even trying to scrape the sauce off didn’t work very well as it had just permeated everything.

Even now, 20+ years later, if I ever use Jif lemon for anything, dh will remind me to be careful with it Grin - he’s not really into cookery but that fact has seared his brain and made a lasting impact!
