Cellulite is driving me crazy

No matter how much weight I lose it's still exactly the same. I walk at least 5k a day, use an exercise bike at least twice a week and run now and again, and it's been exactly the same since I was about bloody 12! I weigh between 8.5-9st so not overweight. Depressing!!! Anyone got a magic cure?!

Cellulite is normal, stop worrying about it!

JamThenClottedCream · 20/01/2019 13:57

The only time I notice a difference in my cellulite is when I drink LOTS more water than I usually do. It's still there but the overall appearance improves.

This is like saying you are worried about having toenails. There isn't a cure, it's a natural part of your body. The beauty industry have problematised so much of what is normal. Please try to enjoy what your body can do and stop fixating on a very small part of your appearance and letting it bring you down.

Coffee bean scrubs with chili/cinnamon. Caffeine topically helps, and the spices aid circulation. Obviously only helps the appearance does nothing for underlying fat structure.

magic cure

Accept that this is what people look like. Babies have cellulite.

FuzzyShadowChatter · 20/01/2019 14:02

Sadly, it's so airbrushed away that it can feel like it's a problem few have, but it's entirely normal that something like well over 90% of women have it - or so I've read in several places - so you're in very good company! It's genetics - women carry fat stores in particular areas of the body in a particular way (I think it makes our storage hardier than men's) that causes cellulite. I've had it even when ill and underweight. It can be hard but I agree that it's something to stop worrying about if you can.

WhoTFIsAlanBrazil · 20/01/2019 14:08

You'll never get rid of it completely if you are predisposed to have it, it's down to genetics.

However, the better muscle tone you have, the least noticeable it will be.

You seem to be doing mostly cardio, you would benefit from adding strength training into your routine (squats, deadlifts and lunges are brilliant for lower body)

prettywhiteguitar · 20/01/2019 14:09

Being toned gets rid of it. I lose it when I’m doing spinning classes or cardio classes. Got it on the front of my legs now but doing classes on Fiit is helping. Age doesn’t help ! I have cellulite in places I didn’t before, like the top of my stomach but it really is just high intensity exercises that get rid of most of it

E20mom · 20/01/2019 14:15

If you look into what cellulite actually is and how it occurs you see it's totally normal and not a fault,

dancemom · 20/01/2019 14:22

No fizzy drinks and dry body brushing improved mine, it's reduced drastically but can still be seen

octopusrus · 20/01/2019 14:42

Yes don't worry I know that in the big scheme of things it's not too important but it's just bloody annoying and mine does seem to be drastically worse that everyone else's! But yes, fact of life I guess...

It's genetic - I'm exactly the same. Never been bigger than a size 10, but always had wobbly, dimply thighs and bum.

It used to drive me mad too, but since I realised that having cellulite has never really stopped me wearing what I wanted, or repulsed one single man from fancying me, it really doesn't matter. Would rather NOT have cellulite, but don't massively care. Especially as I don't believe there's a lot I can do about it.

So, not giving a fuck: highly recommend
