I am a grown up woman but I really need help with this. My freezer is like a black hole. It is stuffed to the brim of random stuff and I have no idea how to organise it. Oh wise women of MN please help!

It's a 3 drawer freezer underneath a fridge, is there some sort of system I should follow to organise it better?

I defrosted what I thought was minestrone soup the other day. It was a one person portion of sausage casserole.

I've got an 8 year old snowball in one drawer.

I've got a list of what is in each drawer which I add to and cross off. I've also got a partner who buys yellow sticker items who doesn't use the list Angry

Just had a new freezer delivered today and reading this with interest. We have a freezer in the kitchen and now 2 in the garage. One is 18 years old and rusty on the outside. I didn’t want it dying when I needed it most (Brexit) so now have a nice new one to fill.
We batch cook by cooking double of whatever we have in the slow cooker and have a freezer meal after work one day due to that.

Ooh I have one of these too!! I was really confused when I went to get some chicken out and found 1 solitary ox cheek and a pack of almost out of date sausage in there that I know isn't on my inventory! I have a system for a reason!

Also WTF do I make for a family of 4 out of 1 bloody ox cheek?!

We bought a small whiteboard from Amazon that we BluTacked to the front of the freezer. We then did a freezer audit and wrote everything we had on each shelf and in each drawer after dividing up the shelves/drawers for meat, fish, veggies etc. We've been pretty good at keeping it up to date. Deleting whatever we've eaten and adding whatever we've frozen.

I use a freezer inventory list and try to group in parts, e.g. all meat together, fish etc. I also try to label the portion sizes, e.g.
3 x 4 pork loins (so there's 3 boxes of pork loin steaks etc), or 1 portion chilli. Don't bother with ice-cream/veg etc. Try to keep the list up to date and use it when meal planning.

Every so often I have to do an audit, so wear gloves (to handle lots of cold stuff), take everything out and start again. Only takes about 5 mins.

I mainly use leftover takeaway boxes as they stack well and I write on the top in permanent pen, this comes off easily enough in the dishwasher.

I have a small freezer with 3 drawers, one is for 1 person meals (leftovers designed for lunches), veg in another and odds in the top. Everything else is kept in a small chest freezer.

I freezer ginger and grate directly from frozen into recipes, also freeze chillis and lemongrass.
