What’s everyone up to today?

Our house: DH is off to play football shortly, DS (2) and I are watching CBeebies and DD (5) is playing in her room. I’m sitting next to a huge pile of washing I really should fold before DS throws it everywhere.

Later we’re all going out for a scoot/walk. And one of us needs to make sure DD does her homework.

What are you all up to?

Currently in the car on the way to London. It's about a 3 hour trip. Here for the day, back this evening.

16y Dd has her Spanish exchange student here for the week and he's never been to England before. So we thought a day in the capital was as good a plan as any. So far they've kept mainly slept in the car - no sleep type of party Friday night appears to have taken its toll!

Abzi91 · 20/01/2019 10:27

DH got in from a night shift an hour ago so is fast asleep in bed. I'm going to brunch with some friends then going to see her new flat! Might nip in to HomeSense on the way back - I love homesense 🙊

DuffBeer · 20/01/2019 10:34

Husband has taken son to rugby tots.

I'm still lying in bed!

I want to buy a scooter today so I can keep up with my son on his balance bike. We'll probably race around the park for a bit this afternoon. Then a Disney film later.

kaytee87 · 20/01/2019 10:36

DH went for a cycle at 9am. Toddler DS and I have had a lazy morning watching kids movies and playing with toys (while I simultaneously tidied the house). DS will go for a nap at 12 and I'm considering ordering myself a dominos for lunch Blush feeling sorry for myself as we're ttc and AF arrived this morning.

kaytee87 · 20/01/2019 10:37

Me and DH currently dat pondering what 30-odd year old couples without DCs do on a Sunday??? Any ideas??

Sleep, pub, cinema

CatnissEverdene · 20/01/2019 10:38

Puppy had me up at 6,30am so it already feels like half the day has gone. We've had breakfast, long walk, long bath after big dog rolled in fox poo (little bastard trying to lead the puppy astray) and the washing machine is full of pungent towels on a hot wash Hmm

Currently watching crap on TV with a very strong coffee to try and make me motivated to get started on the house..........

Natsku · 20/01/2019 10:40

Sorry to interject, but I’m really impressed your pay office is open on a Sunday! We barely have any local post offices left-3 have shut in the last year and none were ever open on a Sunday!

Our post office is part of a shop so it's open whenever the shop is (which is every day until 9pm - very convenient)

Lolimax · 20/01/2019 10:42

As a student nurse who also works almost full time a whole day off is a rare event for me! I’ve just woken up and am chilling on the sofa. Going shopping later and will do a Sunday dinner for DD and DSS and I’ll be nice and take one to DH who is working.
Then back on the sofa to sleep!!

storynanny · 20/01/2019 10:42

Ahh this is making me so nostalgic/ rose tinted glasses for years gone. Y when my Sunday’s were full of “stuff” - 3 boys at different football or cricket matches, sorting out uniforms, cooking a dinner which coincided with all being home, chivvying along the homework, doing some lesson preparation for my lovely year 2 class.
Today, husband at work, I got up late, am trying to coordinate FaceTime with boys and grandchildren in Singapore and New York, finishing off a Rapunzel hat, meeting a friend at the shops later for a cup of tea.
I really do miss mine all being at home though, lovely but hectic times.
The best bit about today though is no lesson preparation as I’ve recently retired!

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 20/01/2019 10:46

Been up since 5am with a ridiculous sore throat that I am completely bored of now. Then DD woke at 5.30 and was sick everywhere, luckily seems to be just through coughing as she hasn't been sick since and is fine (phew)

DH has taken her out in the pram to try and her her to nap, I'm on MN with a cuppa trying to stay awake and DS is on Fortnite. Really should try and go for a walk with the dog later as it's a lovely day but I'm struggling to keep my eyes open so far. It's been a long week with DD and I full of cold and about the same amount of sleep we got when she was a newborn Sad we are very tired!

Longdistance · 20/01/2019 10:52

Dh is just about to leave to train the lads in rugby, and watch them play.
I’m currently doing the laundry. Dds watching some rubbish on tv. I’ll be taking them to see my dm, and then dd1 will be going horse riding. I’ll be making banana cupcakes and sausage casserole for dinner tonight, and sticking a broom up my arse and sweeping the floor at the same time.

potatoscone · 20/01/2019 10:57

I'm still in bed. I usually get up early on Sunday for work but managed to sneak a day off today! DH got up with younger DC and teens are still in bed!

Absolutely no plans whatsoever today. I have just messaged DH and asked him to bring me a cup of tea Grin

madcatladyforever · 20/01/2019 10:59

Dying my hair with a product from esalon which I've never tried before. It's quite a radical colour for me so I'm a bit scared.

foxyfemke · 20/01/2019 11:01

Revising! I have a very difficult exam on Tuesday, so I've been locked in the study all weekend. Will emerge in an hour or so as my dad is coming over for a bit, then lock myself in again. Tonight I'm making pizza when DH does bath/bedtime with the toddler.

We're also potty training DS, so we will also undoubtedly do at least one wash of pants, socks and trousers...

Zoeputthatdown · 20/01/2019 11:03

After a book sort yesterday, am bagging up books to go to a charity shop.
DH is taking snaps of items he wants to stick on eBay.
Planning to go for a walk after an early lunch. Weather not looking enticing.

mogloveseggs · 20/01/2019 11:05

Ds has gone out with my mum and step dad for a belated birthday treat
Dd is lounging in bed but needs to do homework soon
Dh is watching boxing
We are about to get dressed and pop to a local outdoors shop to look for work clothes for DH
Then i might bake or do cross stitch
Lazy sunday really thank goodness

Squirrel26 · 20/01/2019 12:22

This one’s just been to B&Q.
#Livingthedream Grin

dudsville · 20/01/2019 12:23

Laziness had got hold of me. I fear it may take the whole day to sort through.

JudgeRulesNutterButter · 20/01/2019 12:25

Loving reading all these Smile

I have been playing playmobil farms with my two. Loving that DS is getting to the age where he wants to play with small fiddly things and not just barge about kicking everything over.
Now about to make some very uninspired cheese sandwiches for lunch. DH is cooking a roast for us later but the DC both think roast is torture, so we’ll have it after they’re in bed Grin

cricketmum84 · 20/01/2019 12:45

We've just made the most of the empty house and gone back to bed for a bit Grin

Thinking of trying a new pub that's just been opened nearby for a quick drink then home before the DCs descend!

Mummyilovejokes1 · 20/01/2019 12:57

3 loads of washing, general tidying, food for kids. Dp has taken ds1 swimming so im just sitting with ds2 watching Sing for the millionth time! I need to hoover and clean the hallway floor.
Dp will collect food shop for us later and i will cook a roast. Kids to bed and we will try and find something to watch on tv.
Was going to bake cupcakes but i dont have the right ingredients so will pick some up tomorrow and plan it better for next weekend. Need to get piping bags etc so might spend some time on amazon later

AngelOfDeathNix · 20/01/2019 12:58

My daughter's had a friend each to sleep over last night, not sure how much they slept, but I woke feeling quite refreshed! Kids have gone home, bedrooms are tidy and all sleeping bags etc put away!

We've got a list of small jobs that need doing around the house, so working our way through them whilst kids play with Lego. I'll cook a roast later and then catch up on The Greatest Dancer before early nights all round!

Therewere5inthebed · 20/01/2019 14:01

I had a lie in until 10.

Put a load of washing on then spent a few hours in my cat rescue pens, kitten cuddling and in with two nervous, feisty cats just talking to them, and gave the pens a through clean, walls washed, floors mopped and hoovered.

Then made mushroom omelettes for brunch and have just made almond biscotti and apricot crumble slices.

Will prep veg for a roast once I’ve finished my tea.

Adversecamber22 · 20/01/2019 16:34

Went for a walk along the canal with my mate and her dog for couple of hours,
DH was cleaning aquarium while I was out.
Did weekly food shop on way home, aquarium done but washing machine taken apart and all over kitchen. He thought it would be finished before I got home.

Just about to eat salad with the roast chicken I just cooked and then watch tv. Teen DS is joining us. Plan to game on my console as DH continues to sort out washing machine after tv. Hope it gets done as have couple loads washing.

DitzyPrints · 20/01/2019 16:38

I’ve been writing an essay since 10am. Finished about 30 mins ago.
Kids eating tea. Dh has future upstairs and I’m about to do ironing and hoovering.
Looking forward to watching dancing on ice with dd tonight and reading ds a bedtime story as not seen them much last few days.
