Party for 5 year old

Does anyone have any good ideas for a party for my 5 year old DD. She's in reception and the whole class will be invited. So far this school year we have had various soft-play, hall with bouncy castles, and a magician. By the time we get to her birthday they will be bored of the above. Money wise I don't have a budget in mind but don't want to go too mad.

what point in the year? Makes a difference if you could be outside

We hired a Hall and bouncy castle, but had craft tables too and they all flocked to those
This year we’re doing a craft party!

Any of the above will be perfect. My dgs's party this year is Harry Potter themed.

Kids never get bored of parties. Book a local hall / working man's club. Shove buffet food out and book a disco/entertainer. Probably the cheapest option for a whole class party.

In reception it can be quite important to have the same party as everyone else.

Thanks for your replies.

It will be in July. Interesting that you don't think they will get bored of the same stuff.

I have a place in mind that has an outside as well as the hall so if the weather is bad we can have the hall and if not we can use the garden as well.

Check the acoustics of any hall. Our local one has an awful echo...

grinchypants · 19/01/2019 18:54

Do you have the space to do a garden party?

we have a gymnastics place near us that you can book for an hour of exclusive play on the equipment with trained staff supporting and party room, just supply food and party bags.

Most popular this year for us has been tranpoline park parties. I don't see the fascination but they love it

We had a wildlife party at the education centre at the country park - they provided someone to lead activities (a craft, games and a treasure hunt outside). You could do something like this by just renting the room though.

My eldest is in reception, and we've had a lot of parties already.

The ones that have been the biggest hit aren't themed, they have an entertainer who does games (old school musical bumps etc)/silly dancing/bubble machine with tat plastic toys as prizes, they dash about like headless chickens, and there's' a good party tea!

Oh, and the one with booze for the adults was brilliant 😀
