Ah lip wax fail what can I use if I have no wax remover

I was lucky enough to fly to France this morning. We are going skiing.

After brushing my teeth at home I noticed I have a bit of a moustache Blush. So I grabbed a couple of wax strips and popped them in my bra to warm up (they are rubbish unless slightly warm).

I got distracted by DC and on the plane realised I still had the strips in my bra, and of course I still have a horrid moustache.

I've rescued the strips, and intend to use them later. I've not got any of the wax remover wipes with me though and I'm
wondering what I can use instead?

We are planning a supermarket shop later, but TBH I would rather not add 'wax removal wipes' to the list as we are here with a big group who don't need to know about my hair issues.

Any advice gratefully received.

Can you just use baby wipes?

userschmoozer · 19/01/2019 13:58

Does baby oil or lotion work? Or hand cream?

TheQueef · 19/01/2019 13:59

Shave it this time

Or a lighter?

Any kind of oil works - olive oil?!

MarieKondo · 19/01/2019 14:01

Don’t wax, bleach is way better!

winterisstillcoming · 19/01/2019 14:01

I've used olive oil, bio oil, baby oil - great for painless plaster removal too

CrazyOldBagLady · 19/01/2019 14:01

Any kind of oil will work, like baby oil, olive oil.

FatChloe · 19/01/2019 14:02

Pat the back of the strip over where you've waxed to remove the excess. Then use baby oil.

comedycentral · 19/01/2019 14:04

Hair removal cream. Do a patch test though!

startingafresh1 · 19/01/2019 14:06

Fabulous. We are bound to get some sort of oil in our shopping trip, so I will use that.

Don't think I'll request baby oil as that in itself will raise eyebrows.

Wax works well for me. Bleaching it just gives me a white moustache!

I daren't shave it in case I get a bristly obvious regrowth.

I used to worry about bristles and stubble. The blonde grew back fine and my fuse wires were easier to locate with tweezers.
Then I realised all the lady defuzzing hurt like a bitch and was expensive.

If there were a better way then men would be using it!

CreakyBlinder · 19/01/2019 14:17

Bleaching would only be better if the OP was keen to have a white moustache! Grin

Olive oil works a treat

hopeishere · 19/01/2019 16:28

Do not bleach. You'll have a ginger tache instead.

amusedbush · 19/01/2019 16:43

Coconut oil works well.
