Net curtain alternatives

I'm moving into a new flat soon which is in the middle of a row of flats above shops. The flats have one long balcony running along the full length of the building.

My living room and kitchen windows are at the front of the flat Which means that anyone walking along this balcony can see into those rooms.

Net curtains are the obvious solution for privacy but they're not the most stylish choice. Has anyone found any alternatives?

Anything which gives a frosting dffect on the windows can make you feel very claustrophobic. Sometimes it’s nice to see whats happening out there.

Have you thought about cafe style curtains? Or soft muslin curtains which you can drawer open or closed depending on the level if privacy you want for each occasion.

I am doing some research for one way privacy solutions that look great.

I am researching solutions for one way privacy during the day. I am thinking about a battery-powered blind with a dark voile fabric in order to achieve an ultra-contemporary look.

Alternatively, I am looking at 3M Night Vision 25 from WindowTreat as it is so subtle and non-reflective for a one-way privacy film. It is even less reflective than a window on the inside and subtle on the outside. Alternative to Net Curtains

I recently took down my voiles and used window film on the lower pane at the front of the house only, combined with full length curtains. It's great because it lets light in from the top window pane but no one can see in really - and then the curtains are drawn at sunset. I probably wouldn't want to use the film all the way up if they are tall windows though as then you can't see out.

The frosted films look super classy on the lower windows.
