Threshold for taking a feverish two year old to the GP? She's snotty and coughing a bit. Ate and drank fine yesterday, temp came down with Calpol, and she was reasonably perky. Bit of a disturbed night but not too bad. Today it's still hovering around 40 nearly an hour after first Calpol dose, and she's just fallen back to sleep in my bed after waking at 6. Opinions?

DH thinks call 111. I think if you call 111 and say "two year old" they'll just tell you to take them to a GP automatically. I'm more inclined to just keep an eye on her for now, but don't want to under-panic!

You could ring your GP and ask for a telephone consultation.

Personally I'd let her sleep & see how she is after.
My DC have been hot & off colour a number of times then had a huge sleep & woken up full of beans.

Pressed post by accident. It doesn’t sound like you need to rush to have her looked st though.

Mine would have a febrile convulsion at that temp, so GP for us.

Temp went down to 38.5, so figured I'd wait and see. Then she threw up. Might just be the cough (often triggers her gag reflex), but I'm taking her to the GP!
