I'm on my first nursing placement and there is a lady that can't speak any English I'd like to be able to say a few basic things to her to make it easier. could anyone tell me how to say
hello
good morning
Is it ok to do your observations
Do you have any pain
mild pain
moderate pain
severe pain
Do you have any nausea
Thank you

if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it

Type those phrases into google translate and get it to read them aloud in Polish.

People could write all sorts of things, but that wouldn't help you pronounce them.

What Barbara said. These phrases are simple enough to Google translate fairly accurately. The way they are written Vs the way they are pronounced is the issue so you need to be able to hear it out loud and repeat it a few times to get the hang of it.

Alternatively get a print out.

I'm sorry but Google translate is notoriously unreliable!
Could you look on an app like duolingo and see if they have a Polish course? It will also help with pronunciation!

Dzień dobry is good morning I think
Dziękuję is thank you

Hopefully a real Polish speaker will be able to help you.

hello/good morning = dzien dobry = dj'yen' dob-rih

hello/goodbye (informal) = cześć = chesh'ch'

goodbye = Do widzenia! = do vee-dze-n'ya

thank you = dziękuje = dj’yen-koo-ye

Nice to meet you = Miło mi = mee-wo mee

My partner will translate the rest in a little bit

Google Translate is your friend here! I’ve used it to communicate with several patients Smile

We also have a lovely domestic assistant on my ward who speaks Polish and she’s been happy to translate for me on occasion!
