what do we think of radio 2, zoe, sara and jo

Yesterday, i missed simon mayo and his chat.

Can't stand Zoe. The faux breathless excitement at everything and she's such a crap interviewer. And the 7 second shout out -what is the point of it?

She interviewed Tom Hiddleston the other day about the Harold Pinter play he's in. She decided to tell everyone about the play he was in (loves her own voice) then asked him to tell us about the play. Even he said that there wasn't much to add as she'd already said it all!

Am actually going to buy a digital radio alarm so I can listen to Chris Evans on Virgin as she winds me up so much it's a bad start to my day every day.

Love Sara Cox though. Wished she'd got the breakfast show.

I'm not overwhelmed by Zoe and there is too much chat but she is a million times better than Chris Evans me me me. I don't think Zoe work well with her team which is part of the problem but hopefully that will grow. They just seem much younger than her so how on earth can you build a brilliant rapport there. It's bearable - but also too much celeb talk like Chris had - boring. Agree Sara would have been much better and more suited to this slot than 5pm. The best thing about Sara's slot is that she plays music I like, so I sing along on my drive. But I'd prefer this in the morning and then her chat would also work. I think Zoe would have been better for drive time p'haps.

Zoe prattles on, talks total inane crap, I like her on tv ie. when she presented the Strictly show add on, I couldn't stand some of Chris Evans' self righteous stuff, nepotism etc, but he did do some quite interesting things too

I've decided to switch to the today show. Zoe is too annoying for me for first thing in the morning.

Mind you, anyone is better than Mary Anne Hobbs who now has the mid morning slot on 6 Music. I can't listen to her at all - so dull and wet sounding.

Oh God, I'm with you. She sounds like she's a bit thick as well. I know that's a horrible thing to say but she does.

I don't catch much of Lauren's breakfast show live, so I've taken to putting her on via Listen Again instead of Hobbs.

I can't stand the music on R2 so I don't listen to any of it, but I did used to like Sara Cox on R1 and can't imagine she's much different. I think she works well with a team or at least a foil, so if it's just her talking into the void I can imagine it not working quite as well.

Same as I thought about them 20 years ago when they were all on Radio 1. I can't bear Sara Cox, Zoe is ok but she just doesnt hold my attention, and Jo Whiley is wonderful.

Why don't you all go over to 6 music?!

Charley50, I am a 6Music person and would love to have Sara on there too. She could replace either Mary Ann Wet or the appalling Liz Kershaw.

Haven't heard Sara yet , but I did enjoy it when she filled in for the irritating Chris.

Zoe was much better this morning but maybe I just enjoyed the tunes more. She should get rid of the kids slot though- find kids unbearable on the radio. I’ve tried Chris but I’m not loving the constant Sky Sky Sky pish. They are all at it and it’s aggravating. I like Sara and Jo is back doing her thing and sounding happier and natural.

I'm not warming to Zoe. Just not finding her genuine - she may be trying too hard and she hasn't found her voice yet. I've tuned into Chris Evans on Virgin a few times but I'm finding the constant Sky promo and live music every day (with poor sound compared to Radio 2) too much. When you listen to the radio, you want to feel the presenter is talking to you, not that you are listening in on the chat of a group of mates. It feels like he's trying to do TFI Friday on the radio and that's had its day. Mind you the DAB signal is awful on my hilly journey to work so it cuts out half the time.

Hell, I even tried Radio1 this morning but hated the music and it was during the '10 minute takeover' so I didn't even hear Greg James say a word.

I've only relaxed listening to Sara on the drive home. She should have the breakfast slot imo.

Bit tough to follow the confessions with anything. I think the show can do without that and the name game they play on other days.

I didn't like Chris on the breakfast show and I don't like Zoe any better. It needs someone a bit more relaxed in the morning. Drivetime just isn't the same without Mayo so I listen to R4 now. And by the time Jo Whiley comes on, the radio's off. Jeremy Vine is fine and I've loved Steve Wright for the last 30 years

I like all 3 and particularly Zoe but I've always liked her enthusiasm and bounce. She's a big improvement on Chris Evans who I regularly turned over to avoid.

I can't stand Ken Bruce....I have to turn over when he comes on. Really not my cup of tea.

I'm struggling on my commute now as don't have DAB in my car, long time listener to Chris but really not liking Zoe and radio 4 is too brexit heavy at the minute-not at8am! My local radio is so inane, what else is out there??

Re: what else to listen to.. there is literally a whole world of digital radio stations out there.

You can get a DAB adapter thing and listen through the tune-in radio app. Sounds like a hassle but once it's set up it's fine. Oh maybe it uses a lot of data actually.

Enjoyed Zoe this morning but that could be due to Jo B and Ken B who were guests.

Sara needs guests or a gang. It's a bit boring and I really like her.
