Burnt child's foot with apple cider vinegar

Pharmacist recommended putting apple cider vinegar on a verruca my youngest child had. Did it and it cleared it up really fast, bazzuka had not touched it.
I've done the same with my eldest the past few nights who months later seems to have a collection of verrucas on the ball of his foot. Now after checking his foot tonight it seems the vinegar has burnt off a huge patch of skin leaving the skin under neath red raw.....and all the verucas are still there.
I feel horrendous I've done that to him. It looks horrific.
Have I been a complete idiot? I'm a bit scared to take him to the doctors now.

Take him to doctors, you did it with the best intentions and will not be judged for that.
Just take him and see what treatment he may need.
Don't beat yourself up.

You need to put something like Vaseline around the verrucas so the healthy skin isn't impacted by the ACV.

I used it on a cluster of verrucas on DC1 last year, some healthy skin was impacted but it all healed within about a week. I'd stop using ACV and let it heal, then try again.

I spilt ACV on my foot the other day. I have awful eczema and very sensitive skin. I had no reaction.
Any allergies? Any other products used at all? You followed the pharmacists advice so don’t worry. Hope it heals soon.

Put nothing else on it at all. So hard getting in to the doctors but now wish I hadn't tried sorting it myself.
He's had one ball of cotton wool on them, there's about 4 but the skins come off really far around them.
It's not not bothering him...infact he was really impressed with the massive bit of dead skin he pulled off 😩 really worried it's gonna be mega painful come morning. Also a bit concerned the doctor will think I'm some sort of abusive mother!

Not for following advice of a pharmacist. They really won’t. If it’s sore in the morning do you have anything to dress it with?

eggonmyface · 15/01/2019 21:20

Don't think so no. Kind of wish I hadn't looked at it tonight!

BornInAThunderstorm · 15/01/2019 21:23

If you have any aloe vera gel it is good for healing damaged skin

picklemepopcorn · 15/01/2019 21:24

It may well look worse than it is- foot skin is very think. See how he is tomorrow, if he's ok protect the healthy skin with Vaseline and try again!

Fabulous! You can see where a couple of them are starting to lift away. Give 'em a gentle scrape, a couple of days off, then try again.

Redcrayonisthebest · 15/01/2019 21:38

See how it is in the morning, on the pic the skin just looks like new pinks skin not burnt skin.

BurpsandHustles · 15/01/2019 21:50

My dd has veruccas I was thinking about soaking her feet in very diluted acv.
