Any regrets? If you could go back in tkme would you have changed anything?

I will start, 4 years....! No regrets =)

Me and DP first met when I was 16 and him 17 and had brief flirtation then but didn't really get together until we met up later when I was 25. I'm now 46 and had my DC in August, when I was still just about 45. So 20 years.
*Did realise that on a thread recently I put that I was 41 so am clearly in denial about my age.

CherryVicky29 · 14/01/2019 21:51

9 years 🙂 Together since 15 though, so felt reasonable age. Together 10 years this year 😀

Chocolateheaven123 · 14/01/2019 21:51

About 2.5 years! And it was planned. Absolutely no regrets. Have a house together now and another baby on the way. Wouldn't change a thing.

PerfectPeony · 14/01/2019 21:53

7 years. We did the travelling- house purchase- dog - engagement - marriage - baby. I wanted to do things properly. It’s been perfect.

I think it’s important to have a strong relationship which takes a couple of years to build (imo). Nothing has challenged us like having a baby has!

Helmetbymidnight · 14/01/2019 21:54

About 14 months. I don't mess around. Grin

YouCantBeSirius · 14/01/2019 21:56

Just over 2 years and absolutely no regrets

minipie · 14/01/2019 22:02

12 years. No regrets. I like to do very full research before committing Grin

16 years together with 11 of them married before our first DC arrived... it took a long time and we did a lot of IvF. I do regret the timing I wish it had been even a few years sooner so I could have squeezed in DC3 but I feel too old for that now however we still pinch ourselves we had DC1 never mind being lucky enough to have DC2!!

Have to say I am surprised more are long term relationships on this thread before DC arrived!

0lgaDaPolga · 14/01/2019 22:03

7 years, married for 1 year. Perfect for us.

Cwtches123 · 14/01/2019 22:03

Met in January, engaged in February, married in August, first child born June the following year. Second child arrived 2 years later
That was 14 years ago, no regrets! I was 37 when we met so time was not on our side.

Crunchymum · 14/01/2019 22:04

Had been together 5 years when I fell pregnant (we were planning to start trying but it happened first month after I stopped taking the pill). Ended up losing that pregnancy / having 3 miscarriages in a year, and we had to go for recurrent miscarriage testing.

We now have 3 children (6,4 and 1) and we've been together 12 years.

Plenty of regrets but the kids aren't one of them Grin

ItsClemFandangoCanYouHearMe · 14/01/2019 22:05

12 months. 3 months before we got pregnant. Wouldn't change a thing.

LoniceraJaponica · 14/01/2019 22:07

Nearly 22 years - married for 19. Infertility problems meant that it just didn't happen earlier.

TwllBach · 14/01/2019 22:07

‘Officially’became a couple in the April and I was pregnant by the August Blush we are still together despite everything and obviously I wouldn’t change DS for the world, but I can’t say it was easy.

Billballbaggins · 14/01/2019 22:07

I got pregnant about 12 months after we started dating. We were quite young (early 20s) and I was on the pill. You’ll roll your eyes but it failed. It would have been nice to have more ‘couple’ time before having our son but no regrets. We’ve now been together almost 7 years, another DC and are married and we are still ridiculously in love (with each other and our beautiful babies)

NorthernLurker · 14/01/2019 22:08

10 months.

I reckon I could get it down to 9 1/2 next time Wink

That was 21 years ago btw. We've done ok Grin

loveskaka · 14/01/2019 22:09

11 years

neversleepagain · 14/01/2019 22:10

3 years, no regrets but with hindsight if I'd known it would have been so quick to fall pregnant I would have waited a couple more years.

NorthernLurker · 14/01/2019 22:10

Just to be clear she arrived at the 10 month point. 2 weeks late

NorthernLurker · 14/01/2019 22:10

But we were really good friends beforehand

meow1989 · 14/01/2019 22:14

12 years(together young), married for just under 3. There are several times in our relationship I though we shoukd have a child, the timing of when we dd was absolutely the right time.

SockQueen · 14/01/2019 22:17

9 years, 5 years married. We'd been trying for a while though.

dustarr73 · 14/01/2019 22:32
